“good hotel, nice location, nothing to write home about”
Reviewed June 26, 2013

I stayed here a couple of times on business this past month,
the hotel is basically ok,
which is kind of unfortunate as it has the makings of a great hotel.

it's well located, clearly money went into its construction and decor, but not enough international class would be my take on it.

service is also a bit strange, as if training had not been given to the staff.
There is not the welcoming attitude you would expect in a hotel of this level and price.

there are some good people there, we had to store a lot of luggage and equipment and the concierge and bellhop went out of their way to sort easy to access storage for us.

middle of the road.

but we had an early flight and staying the last night in Puerto Natales was not convenient.

We only stayed for one night..our first room smelt like a cigarette factory..but they rapidly change it to a better one...and we are gratefull for it but the next day we had to leave at 4:30 to the airport and we asked for a coffee...OMG..what a strange request...it took our sleeping waitres 15 minutes to bring it from the kitchen..each time she brought a diffetent peace...the cup...then the spoon..then the sugar...then the cup's plate...yes...long and tiring..but guess what...no milk!!! she then explained that breakfast starts at 6:30..what a brilliant remark...guess what: we just came to the lobby at 4 am to see your shinning face...to sum it up...lazy, slow and not too smart...

Great location on main square. Good hotel with good service. Food was also good. A wee bit noisy with cars but that is because of location and should not be a reason not to stay. Only issue was it took an age to check out which should be a quick and easy process.

I stayed at this hotel in February and it was a pleasant overnight, to catch my flight the next day back to Santiago. The location is the best, right on the main square with easy walking distance to every interesting place to see in Punta Arenas. Service was ok but need impovement in terms of celerity, breakfast was also ok with a basic array of options to choose from, product quality didn't impress just average juices, pastries, cereal, yoghurt and no much more. Room service adequate. The room itself deserves a very good qualification, recently refurbished, good dimensions and very nice bathroom. Overall is a very good place to rest and spent a few days to get to know what Punta Arenas has to show.

Checked into this hotel with a group of friends on our way to Torres Del Paine. Quite confusing time upon check in which took along time to be allocated a room.

The room on our first stay prior to the tour to Torres Del Paine was overlooking the town square. The square became very noisy at night and we were unable to open the window. The room became quite stuffy.

The staff were impersonal and the atmosphere in the restaurant, bar area was not particularly relaxing. The service was average.

Upon return from our trek we had been allocated a room facing the Magellan Straits this was a wonderful view and the room was alot more quiet than the room overlooking the square.

Only one of the pc's in the business centre was working. Check out was time consuming and frustrating. Wouldn't stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the Magellan Straits, beautiful view and more quiet than rooms overlookin...

You could have two different views- one looking over the Straits of Magellean or the one we had- which looked over a pictuesque park. The restaurant ( where we dined for dinner) verlooks the Straits and has an indiginous peoples theme with hauntingly beautiful paintings. We had them make us box lunches to go and they were so huge we could have shared one! I would not hesitate to stay here any time I was in the area!

Stayed here one night as part of our Smartours Patagonia tour. Tho rated as a 4* more like a 3, Its sister hotel , Costaustralis at PuUerto Natales is far nicer and a true 4*. Room carpet was worn and stained; otherwise a somewhat compact room with a modern bathroom and decent breakfeast. Within a few blocks, are many cafes and restauarants and a supermarket.
