This is a very cute restaurant. It's a cozy space with lots of interesting art and knick-knacks. I didn't expect much for the food in Punta Arenas, but this was surprisingly good. I had a pasta dish that was simple and satisfying.

They only accept cash. They had live music playing (jazz) upstairs which was very nice. It cost a little extra to sit up there so we just sat down stairs (we could hear it perfectly well). They made good drinks and pride themselves on local (Chilean) only products. The food wasn't as good as I had hoped but the general atmosphere made it worth while and a very enjoyable experience.

I ate here twice with a large group, we were delighted with the quality of the food, both the meat eaters, fish eaters and veggies all enjoyed our meals which were prepared with fresh ingredients and care. The wine list had some excellent Chilean wines at very reasonable prises (£9- for a good Syrah that you would pay a similar price in a uk supermarket). The atmosphere was nice also with lots of locals.

Bottom Line: Go for the atmosphere – it’s one of the best in Chile but the food is just above average for the price.

The Food:
The cuisine is above average but not exceptional. The food is a contemporary take on Chilean cuisine. They offer delicious fare that showcases regional meats and sauces that are easily paired with the restaurants’ wine offerings. I ordered the lamb stew, which was served more like a pot roast on a plate but was flavorful and cooked well done. My travel companion ordered the pork loin which was also delicious; it was served with potatoes that were tender without being mushy. The wine was on the pricey side for Chile (about $18 USD and up for a bottle) but didn’t seem noticeably different from other restaurants around the country. We finished with the carrot cake which was actually more of a poppy seed coffee cake served with ice cream.

The Atmosphere:
This is probably what you are paying for. The restaurant is colorfully decorated featuring unusual art and local crafts hanging from the walls. In fact, the bathroom doors had plaster body parts on the bathroom doors for girls and guys – a male bulge and female breasts for those of us who might be Spanish impaired! So vibrant are the colors that it feels like you might have walked into a painting by Frida Kahlo. This was one of the enjoyable restaurants I had ever dined at and really appreciated the level of detail that went into designing and decorating the place.

The Service:
Service was at times slow but not any different than most Chilean restaurants where you may need to signal to the waiter that you are ready to order or want to pay the bill. People are friendly and were helpful in helping select dishes. We arrived without a reservation but were given seats at the “bar” which is actually a narrow tabletop encircling the top of the staircase on the second floor. After 10 minutes, a table opened up and the staff was gracious enough to move us.

Location:
The restaurant is located a few blocks away from the city’s main shopping areas and hostels. Most everything feels like its walking distance in Punta Arenas so getting here should not be a problem for most people.

Other Details:
The restaurant takes both cash and credit cards. The restaurant is clean (including the bathrooms) and is well maintained.
