We weren't expecting the Hotel Crillon or the Ritz: what we got was a small but clean room with a view of the sound and mountains in the distance. Curious that the negative reviews are German: not all wrong, granted, because the building does feel a bit rickety, but that's the only negative point. Very warm welcome, nicely furnished, good breakfast. What more could you want?!

We stayed at this hostal before and after completing the Torres del Paine circuit trek. The rooms are cosy and comfortable, with plenty of hot water and all the heating and quilts you could need to keep you toasty warm way down in icy Puerto Natales. It has a nice little lounge area with lots of interesting books on the area and the hosts were welcoming and full of information. They kindly let us leave our excess luggage at the hostal while we were trekking. One tip - the hostal reception is not manned all day and sometimes no-one answers the door. But the hosts live across the road. So, if you keep knocking and ringing the door bell eventually someone will come! The hostal is a short walk from everything in Puerto Natales, which is a pleasant little town with lovely places to eat. We much preferred it to Punta Arenas.

It is real like that: it feels like home. Also when we arrived late we got all the information we needed to get to "P.N. Las Torres". We could also book our bus there. Breakfast was very good! Beatiful place.

Only if you have the room beside the kitchen it is a bit noisy...

the hotel is very rustic and simple from the out side. inside it is very welcoming and homey and special. the rooms vary. we had a room with windows to the street on ground level which did not feel very secure. the door to the bathroom was without door handle and there was no mirror above the sink. the second room was better. there are no soaps or shampoo etc. the staff make an effort to assist and help and are very nice and the breakfast is o.k. they kept our luggage for two nights while we visited the amazing torres del paine park.

This is one of the best decorated/designed hostels we've stayed in. The bed was super comfortable and the staff was very friendly. The common areas are magnificent for lounging around and reading a book. The cafe located within Amerindia offers delicious treats and great coffee. The location is perfect, located within two blocks of two of the best restaurants in town (Aldea and Afrigonia) and close to the water as well. When we return to Puerto Natales we will look no farther than Amerindia!

We stayed here in January. 2 nights before our walk and kayaking trip and 1 night after. The place is great. Comfortable beds, spacious enough rooms, quiet, very helpful staff and importantly - very clean. It's delightfully decorated throughout. The lounges with the log fires are cosy. The rooms are warm, kept so by a gas fire. Showers good. All in all no complaints or adverse criticsms. Only 1 suggestion .... a few more hooks or a rail just to hang a few things, but that is minor. Very good cafe, and a great breakfast. Ididn't leave hungry.
We had rooms 6 and 2.

ALL GOOD.

Room Tip: Of the 2 rooms we had room 6 was marginally better as it had a door out into the back garden, and wa...
