The daily special was chupe de centollas so we popped in to try it. Chupe, usually translated as chowder, is more often a thick seafood stew topped with cheese made bubbly and brown under a broiler. We think it's a casserole; Julia Child would call it a gratin. El Bote’s chupe de centollas (crab meat gratin) was among the best we’ve tasted and we’ve tasted many, perhaps too many. Service was fast and friendly, price reasonable. Nice place.
