Wonderful boat trip that takes you up to the face of the Glacier. Beautiful scenery up and back, and a great opportunity to cruise amongst the icebergs and see the face of the glacier .

A large glacier. I made a nice stroll along the beach to the lake Grey. A steady wind and beautiful scenery.

It's a huge glacier, flowing down directly from the southern Patagonian ice cap. You'll be walking in the forest, getting so close to the polar-like ice-cap, without having to tent in the snow. There are beautiful trees, sweet streams from smaller glaciers above, and sometimes even edible shubbery like Calafate and Empetrum Rubrum. We also saw a pair of the Magellanic Woodpeckers, including the red headed male (I added a photo).

I loved the fact that you had to walk through a forest to get to a penninsula in order to see the glacier. I didn't quite like the view of the glacier; it was way too far to see, probably because the weather was not good. The walk might be too long for some people and the wind is sometimes really strong, so be careful.

The scenario is absolutely impressive, and the access is easy, even to senior people or children. Be prepared to take hundreds of photos!
