Great hostel! Loved the private double room. Met some really nice, friendly people who shared their Torres del Paine stories and tips. Great place to stay before and after hiking. Super friendly staff...they even baked cookies and shared them with the hostel patrons when I was there!
The only thing I didn't really like was that at the '3 o'clock talk' (which is an awesome discussion about the Torres del Paine hike) they were very firm on how they recommended doing the hike. They strongly recommend you go from left to right and base the discussion on that. They have a good reason for this - that way your pack is lightest on the most uphill part which is the Torres. At the talk they also keep talking about how unpredictable the weather is and how you shouldn't base your plans on the weather cause it can change at any time. Well the day we went to the park it was beautiful and sunny. At the ranger station the guides there told us in two days the weather would turn - it was gonna get highly windy, rainy, and even may snow. The park rangers recommended we go right to left to see the best parts - The Torres & the Valley de Frances while the weather was still good. We made a last minute call and took there advice - which saved our trip! We had two amazing days of sunshine and got to see the two most beautiful parts of the hike. Just as the rangers predicted the weather turned and everyone who took the "go left to right, dont pay attention to the weather" missed the Valley and the Torres cause it was too cloudy to see anything. We really lucked out and in my option Patagonia is Patagonia - the weather can change at any moment. But, if there are some predictions out there, you are better off following those then nothing.
