“Comfortable with great views”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 2, 2014

We only stayed one night, in February. Although it looks like something from the Ikea catalogue, and stands on the hill like an orange beacon, don't be put off, once you're used to it, it adds to its character. The rooms are a little small, but are comfortable and the views are unrivalled - it's hard to unpack when every time you turn around you're distracted by the view! The restaurant is out of action at the moment (Apart from breakfast) but there are many places to eat in Puerto Natales. Staff are great, and public areas are welcoming with lots of local information (And more of the great view!). The only real down side is that it's a 15 minute walk from the centre of the town, but let's face it, if you're in Puerto Natales you're most likely the type of traveller who can cope with this.

Room Tip: Make sure you're facing the water

Stared here in Feb 2014 on two occasions, both for one night. Rooms are relatively small and basic eg no bedside lights, no TV etc but the views are stupendous. Similarly, breakfast was simple but plentiful. Hotel staff were very friendly. Puerto Natales is a small town full of restaurants, hostels and hiking shops, all concentrated around two streets. Taxis are easily found, with a fixed rate for anywhere in town. ( c £2 I think. )

Recently stayed here whilst enroute to Torres del Paine National Park. Situated a little way from the main town centre, and located on the side of a hill. The building looks impressive clad in wood and painted orange - you cannot miss it!

Rooms small but very clean, good shower room ensuite, and the view from the bedroom window is truly amazing.

Breakfast consisted of a cold buffet, with an interesting selection of goodies.

Please be aware there is no lift and this hotel has two flights of stairs plus a climb from the road to the entrance. However, the receptionist was willing to help with heavy suitcases.

We stayed at the Temaukken for three nights in November while visiting beautiful Torres Del Paine National Park. It is somewhat outside of the city center on a hill overlooking the city and the bay offering beautiful views from the rooms. Due to the hotels location a car is an advantage, but Puerto Natales is a walkable town and the city center and promenade can reached after a relaxed 20 minutes’ walk.

Welcome to the hotel was very friendly and rooms were really nice featuring lots of light wood, as is the whole hotel. The hotel has no elevator, but check in staff was readily offering to help with the luggage, which was well appreciated. In general, the staff at this hotel was great throughout our stay. The room was spotlessly clean and bed very comfortable; excellent sleep. Our room was on the top 3 rd floor, offering a beautiful view. Breakfast was a small continental buffet, but the items offered, although somewhat limited in selection, were of good quality. No complaints, whatsoever.

Compared to other choices in Patagonia the hotel was fair priced. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely choose again the Temaukken, if we came to Puerto Natales.

My 2 girlfriends and I stayed in the triple room at Hotel Temauken before and after our W-Trek in Torres del Paines National Park. The hotel was close to town but not right within town. We had a car so it wasn't an issue as it was a 2-3 minute drive. It is also walkable if needed. The hotel itself was very clean, the beds were comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. What really made this stay though was the staff. They were all very friendly and accommodating - I had questions about getting to/from the Park and when I emailed them prior to my stay they always got back to me very quickly. During our stay they helped us plan our itinerary, recommended tour companies for horse back riding and suggested local restaurants to eat at. They also allowed us to store our baggage during our trek which was a huge bonus for 3 girls carrying with loads of luggage. I would highly recommend staying here. The view at sunrise and sunset from the room was also stunning!

When we arrived at Hotel Temauken, the receptionist was very friendly and told us everything we needed to know about Puerto Natales. He gave us a large room where we could experience a nice view down on the city with one of the most beautiful sunsets we have ever seen. Breakfast was served as a buffet, offering a huge selection including different baked goods, fresh fruit and cereal.
Given the limited and expensive accommodation options in Torres del Paine, we think it's well worth returning to this great hotel in Puerto Natales even when visiting the park for more than one day.

Wonderful beds, pillows and linens. My best nights sleep from 7 hotels while in South America. Very helpful staff. You can still have a decent breakfast even really early in the morning. An easy walk to town and there is a little store across the road for snacks and drinks.

Room Tip: No.6 is a very large room
