The food at this restaurant was very nice, but they struggled to get the orders correct when there was a larger group.

We went 4 times in a row because the seafood was so good and didn't want to be disappointed by trying something else.
The value for money is very good too and the service is efficient and friendly.
I recommend the centollas ( king crabs) either the plate or the "chupe" which is a gratin (oven dish with melted cheese on the top). The local seafood "locos" are also excellent.
Don't miss it.

You have to try the lamb, if it´s available.

I´ve also tasted the Locos. They are really good as well.

We had been spoiled by a week in Ushuaia with its world class resturants, so this place was not up to their level. We dined here because most of the good restaurants in town were closed for the winter, and owner of our hostal recommended this place for it good home cooking.

The food was just ok, the service was excellent though. I had abalone appetizer which was not rubbery which I was concerned about, but it was kind of tastless, but an ample serving size, and plenty of fresh lemon to squeeze on it. The bass with crab sauces was well cooked and ample size, but the sauce was tastless and bland. My wife had crab in a cheese sauce which was good, but with lots of connecter tissue that had to be picked out, she is a bit of a sissy when it comes to fish bones. The mixed salad was ok, but the canned beets and the mushy canned green beans detracted from it.

If you want bland home cooked food, with ample portions at a reasonable price and good service you may want to give this place a try.

It was so good that we went there twice during our three-day stay. The menu was extensive, and we tried king crab, abalone, scallops and a couple of stews and soups. Everything was fresh and delicious, the only exception was the seafood stew/soup which came with too much shellfish, making it a little chewy. Portions are big, and a good value. The only downside to that was we couldn't try too many dishes, hence the need to return. Service was prompt and friendly. The wait staff don't speak English, but the menu is biligual, with pictures. The restaurant is not fancy, but it's clean and casual with a lot of locals.
