We had all the small plates of seafood and were very happy with every meal. Not the chepest place in town but sometimes you have to spend to get the best in life.

was not a huge fan of PN; wished we had forfeited our plane flight from Buenos Aires to Santiago; which then had a connection to Punta Arenas where we did the penguin rookery then bused it to PN and instead flown straight from BA to El Calafate and stayed a day or 2 there. PN is just a stop off to TDP with a ton of stray dogs roaming the streets. Made you feel kinda of bad you were on vacation. Gave ours or bought meals for the dogs every day we were there.
Restaurant was okay; but got the feeling that if not a local; not very welcomed. Africana looked nicer; but had a limited menu. Skip...

This was a great little restaurant. We showed up without reservations but they seated us within 15 minutes. The food and service was good. There were a variety of offerings and prices were quite fair.

Like many others, we experienced a very windy welcome to Puerto Natales. We scouted other more 'fashionable' and well-known restaurants in town before choosing this one. We couldn't see anyplace to eat that grabbed our eye and decided to go in to Ultima Esperanza because it had quite a few people, which we later found out included many locals.

It's a smallish restaurant, and the night we ate there, it was staffed by the owner, the chef, plus a waitress. The owner was all about hospitality. The transition from cold, wind-blown tourista to comfort and warmth happened instantaneously. The owner made it feel as if we had been invited to his home for dinner, not paying customers in a restaurant. The service was top notch, and friendly.

We decided on seafood, and King Crab is the house specialty. A few other reviews before me have pointed out the servings are large, which is a bit of a rarity for a seafood restaurant. And it wasn't just quantity that overwhelmed you, it was the absolute quality.

After gorging ourselves on entree's, fresh rolls, wine and a huge seafood dish, we just couldn't finish our meals. The chef even came out to ask if everything was OK when he saw we had left food on our plates!

These people care about quality, they care about service. It was the sort of amazing place where you walk out wishing you could invite the staff to your place and return the hospitality. If you eat anywhere else in Puerto Natales, you are wasting your time. This is the place to dine!

I ate my way around South America and this was as good as anyplace I went.

We tried this restaurant coz some reviewer said it is for locals. The food turned out amazing! We ordered scallop for appetizer, King crab stew and lamp for entree, they were extremely delicious! We plan to come back again when we back from TDP.
As for the service, unfortunately it was not as good as the food. They don't speak English at all (they offer English Manu, that's good), and didn't even bother to ask me what do I want as side dish for lamp and offered a whole potato, without any sauce coming with it! And we ordered vanilla icecream for desert, but the waitress gave us Calafate ice cream. I'm not a big fun of Calafate. I think they need to add some more hands there.
Overall, the food were absolutely amazing, and it located right at a corner of the main square. but the service need improvement.
For the sake of the food, I give it 5 stars!
