It's a comfortable hotel but, the website says it has hair dryers at the rooms and it has not.

There were people complaining about the noisy events arround the pool, fortunately we were in room 366 which was away from the party area, so we didn't hear anything.

Food is acceptably good, but I certainly have had better. You have to try "mango sour" is a delicious drink (but don't drink too much).

We were not at the private beach, so I have no opinion about it.
The pool was great, medium size and very clean.
The bathrooms had no tubs, just showers.

We spent most of our time in Valle de Azapa, Parque Nacional del Lauca, Lago Chungara, Playa El Laucho and shopping downtown.
We loved the tour to Lago Chungara, you can't lose it.

Summary: I loved the tours, but not very much the city itself. Hotel was fine, I'd recommend it.

I spent two days at the hotel with my wife in april 2008. It is the best in Arica, and every room have ocean private view. Looks like renovation was finished, all was new, clean, and very nice garden and service outstanding.

Contrary what other guests says, the hotel have direct and private access to the small beach La Lisera. With swimming pool (protected from the extreme wind of the afternoon), breakfast buffet, nice view of the Morro de Arica.

Just would wish that the hotel save a bit of the water spent in the garden as Arica it is in the middle of the dessert

Hotel is the best in Aria.

Wonderful staff in reception area as well as room cleaning. Have to contend with management that is lettiing the property ran down. Half light-bulbs in hallways burnt, paint peeling in the rooms, bed linen and covers need a change. Chairs in the bar are so old and dirty one would hesitate to sit there.

Food service excrutiatingly slow, the maitr'd is AWOL, nowhere to be found and correct problems.

The Hotel manager wonders around the property greeting people, with no clear sign that he works there or that he is there payting attention to all the details gone wrong he should be trying to fix.

They have little competition so I guess they can get away with this..

Wish they'd care more and with little extra effort bring the hotel to a higher evel of cleanliness and quality.

The hotel has all the features you would expect of a bigger chain. Also free Wi-Fi in the rooms, nice pool, fantastic sea views, free buffet breakfast.

The hotel isn't in the town centre although it's only a 15 minute walk or a $2.50USD taxi ride (you may see this as a positive or negative). There is no beach next to the property, and a not very nice man made beach 5 minutes walk away - but there are massive rocks that the waves break on creating a very nice view from the hotel. If you want a hotel in the area on a real beach, there are some outside the town to the North (Hotel Arica is in the town, just south of the centre).

The staff were great, especially house keeping who were super friendly (which isn't always true of hotels in Chile).

When we were there the hot water was yellow the first day, but when asked we were told it was being fixed, it took longer than they said but was eventually fully fixed late on the second night. We got a 10% discount for this, and I suspect it was an isolated incident as there had been an Earthquake just south of Arica the day before (although the hotel said they weren't affected when we phoned).

The only real reason I gave this 4 instead of 5 out of 5. Was that we paid extra to stay in a 'Superior' room, but I have no idea what was superior as it seemed like any other hotel room to me.

Beautiful location! Breakfasts were delicious, though the food at night was only fair. Try Maracuya up the road for better meals. The rooms were spacious and the service is outstanding. Right on the water, I could've spent hours right on the property watching the waves roll in. Didn't try the pool, but it sure looked nice. Unfortunately not walking distance from the town. Overall, a very enjoyable stay.
