The hotel has all the features you would expect of a bigger chain. Also free Wi-Fi in the rooms, nice pool, fantastic sea views, free buffet breakfast.

The hotel isn't in the town centre although it's only a 15 minute walk or a $2.50USD taxi ride (you may see this as a positive or negative). There is no beach next to the property, and a not very nice man made beach 5 minutes walk away - but there are massive rocks that the waves break on creating a very nice view from the hotel. If you want a hotel in the area on a real beach, there are some outside the town to the North (Hotel Arica is in the town, just south of the centre).

The staff were great, especially house keeping who were super friendly (which isn't always true of hotels in Chile).

When we were there the hot water was yellow the first day, but when asked we were told it was being fixed, it took longer than they said but was eventually fully fixed late on the second night. We got a 10% discount for this, and I suspect it was an isolated incident as there had been an Earthquake just south of Arica the day before (although the hotel said they weren't affected when we phoned).

The only real reason I gave this 4 instead of 5 out of 5. Was that we paid extra to stay in a 'Superior' room, but I have no idea what was superior as it seemed like any other hotel room to me.

Beautiful location! Breakfasts were delicious, though the food at night was only fair. Try Maracuya up the road for better meals. The rooms were spacious and the service is outstanding. Right on the water, I could've spent hours right on the property watching the waves roll in. Didn't try the pool, but it sure looked nice. Unfortunately not walking distance from the town. Overall, a very enjoyable stay.

We had an excellent time at this hotel. The location is amazing and as far as I know, this is the only beachfront hotel in the city. First we stayed in the regular rooms but then we decided to try the “cabanas” to enjoy a different experience. The cabanas have A/C and overall well equipped; located in front of the beach and the surroundings are very calm and relaxing.

The bar lounge and restaurant are very nice and the food was absolutely gorgeous. The Hotel also has a big swimming pool and a smaller one for kids, beach volleyball, tennis courts, mini golf and a many other recreational areas. I would definitely recommend people with kids visit this Hotel. There is also a recreational team that takes care of your children during the whole day… it’s like a mini Club Med.

Every hour there is something new going on in this Hotel, we really enjoyed our stay there. Overall the Hotel is very clean and safe; the staff is nice and friendly and you won’t have problems with the weather because it stays warm all year long.

First, the good part. The location is unbeatable. The hotel is a very scenic 15-20 minute walk south of town. The cabanas are close to the beachfront. They could use a little renovation, but there are no serious problems to report. Each one has its own patio.

The major problem here is that the hotel hosts a lot of local Arica weddings and corporate functions. One night during our stay the celebration ran until 4:30 AM. Huge speakers are placed poolside- you can imagine the rest. Another night a corporate party raged next door to us. No attempt is made to warn guests. The staff make no apology, and we wondered why guests were housed in the closest cabanas, when vacant ones were further away.

If you see preparations being made for a wedding party, insist on being moved away from the pool area. Nor are the staff particularly welcoming (the cleaning ladies excepted, they are wonderful). The front desk and restaurant staff seem caught up in an inflated sense of self-importance. But when you're the only beachfront hotel in town...

This is one of the few hotels on the seafront in Arica and is a little out of the city, but it is a short taxi ride or a pleasant enough walk with Playa Laucho on one side and El Morro on the other. To compensate for the distance it has a lovely position, overlooking the ocean and dominated by EL Morro to the north. A good well located pool, with pleasant staff, although you might have to go and get them rather than they come to you. Some of the rooms can be a little tired, but reasonable for the price. The most convenient place to stay in Arica by far and I would not consider staying anywhere else.
