Stayed here for 3 nights. I believe it is perfectly positioned. There are good restaurants within walking distance or a 5 minute tuk tuk ride to the Old Market area where you can eat, drink and shop. The hotel was in good condition and the service was excellent. The only issues I had we're too many different wi-fi spots throughout the hotel and your connection would always drop out when moving about or when not using it. Another issue was they aloud smoking in areas such as the Lilile Lobby Lounge, we wanted to have a nightcap after being out and when you opened the door it was like walking into a smoking room. We gave this a miss. The pool is great too.

We stayed here for 5 nights and couldn't have been happier! Beautiful hotel with great pool, nice cocktails at the pool, beautiful rooms & lovely staff.

Negatives would only be that it's a tuk tuk ride to centre of town (5 minutes but $2 each way) & the restaurant was a little expensive.. But that's typical of a nice hotel.

Breakfast buffet was great with made to order omelets.. We dined in the restaurant one night and the food was great although a little more expensive than town.

Free wifi which was 90% good and brand new mac computers in the lobby for free use.

Staff were all extremely lovely. Can't really fault the hotel and its worth the travel from town.

Divine pool that we didnt want to leave!

My friends and I were just at the Tara Angkor Hotel. Two days after we checked out and left for Saigon, one of our friends noticed that her wallet was missing. We checked with the hotel and sure enough, they kept it for us.

Service and amenities are impeccable. It goes without saying that the hotel is highly recommended. Doesn't hurt that the rates are reasonable. Wifi is really fast.

The hotel is out of the town centre on the road to Siem Reap. It is a 1 to 2us dollars mojo ride to the market or bar/restaurant area. This makes for a quiet hotel. It is large with a good pool area. The standard rooms have a small bathroom with a shower over the bath. The deluxe room on the 4th floor was a larger room with a larger bathroom with a separate shower and a storage/wardrobe area off the bathroom separate to the bedroom. There were 2 double beds that were firm but comfortable with good pillows. A small desk area and small balcony that looked down over the courtyard and pool. The buffet breakfast was large with many selections warm and cold with eggs made to order. The small cocktail lounge had a happy hour from 6.30 to 9.00pm with 25%off a huge range of different cocktails. The onsite spa is recommended. The staff are helpful and friendly and would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: deluxe rooms are larger with better bathrooms

Excellent hotel, excellent facilities & some extremely friendly & helpful staff - they were MOSTLY a pleasure to deal with. Only briefly spoiled by a sullen & arrogant manager of the Frangipani restaurant - who refused to accept the food delivered was not what we ordered - and kept insisting it was the same when it clearly wasn't!!! Unfortunately we felt obliged to accept it for fear of what might arrive as a replacement. BUT the rest of the hotel was well worth it.

From the moment you step in the door you are met with smiling faces and throughout the hotel it is clear to see that staff are eager to serve and satisfy your needs. Perhaps it is the culture produces this – various staff in times of chatting with you complimented the hotel for training programs (particularly language assistance) and the benevolent way they are treated, Whilst some other hotels are asking staff to take a cut in pay, or work for a week with no pay, Tara has stood behind its staff
Check in was smooth, including a personal tour of the hotel and explanation of facilities in room features by one of the desk staff – not just the bell boy. The room was spacious, we slept well and the shower was hot, in a clean bathroom.
Usually, as a practice we prefer to drink and dine outside the hotel but were so comfortable we had two meals in house and cocktails each night on the external terrace. The Li Ly lounge is comfortable and Spa located at the end of the garden walkway.
We agree with its 4 star rating and had no faults to report.
