“Lovely place with very helpful staff”
Reviewed February 27, 2011

The staff was very helpful and we arranged our whole visit with there help, including a driver for the whole trip. They offer a pick up from the airport as well. We took the double bed room with AC which was nice and clean with two big beds, a small TV and a clean bathroom.
The location was very close to the main action but not on the main road so there wasn't too much noise to bother us.

This place was recommended to me, thats often the best way, so i tried it. I have been back several times since - great hospitality from both Bob, Clalir, also the Khmer couple and staff. They are running a great place, having recently taken over. I am sure they will soon build a good reputation for their guest house, and for the work they are doing in the community. These are honest people who will help out when ever they can - quite refreshing compared to some of the places i have stayed in.

If you are looking for a clean, comfortable and super friendly guesthouse in the heart of Siam Reap, look no further.

This is a guesthouse with a heart. You'll get a warm welcome (and a cool face washer), great breakfasts, friendly staff (resident Australian managers and local staff) and good local advice.

Bob and Claire took on the management in July 2010 and together with their Cambodian family they are using this as a base from which to help local schools, train local school leavers in the hospitality industry and support a variety of other causes that help locals and visitors alike.

Don't miss the chance for a cuddle with Casper the resident dog.

Forget the older reviews, this place is now run by the wonderful Claire and Bob and they have transformed it into a great place to stay. Not only is it a great place at a great price, profits go to local school charities and you get the opportunity to volunteer if you want to. If you don't have time, check out the VDCA t-shirts, really nice and you will still be helping out a great local cause.

Rooms are good, location is excellent and you will never feel more cared for! Like a home from home!

A great experience! Angkor Voyage is under new management. Bob and Claire really know how to treat their guests and it comes from a genuine concern for everyone's well-being. The rooms are clean, great food, reasonably priced, the staff are friendly and, (if you have had any experience at all in Siem Reap you'll appreciate this comment) no pressure to use their additional services. I've had some experience in Cambodia and it was a refreshing change from the harassment you get at many other places. They are knowledgeable about the area and can make sure you get where and what you want.
As a footnote: While I was staying at Angkor Voyage I had to make a visa run to Poipet which occupied a whole day. I left my wife behind at the hotel (she is Cambodian and didn't need a visa). She wasn't feeling well that morning but, she didn't seem too bad so, I wasn't worried. Later in the morning my wife called me in Poipet, said she was feeling terrible and that she had spoken to Claire about seeing a doctor. Claire and Bob took care of everything. They found her competent medical attention and we actually resolved an on-going medical concern overlooked by other doctors. They had no hesitation, no talk of money or inconvenience – the only concern was my wife's health. Now, that's value for your dollar!

We stayed 6 nights and the hosts were fantastic- so helpful and full of good ideas for our stay- nothing too hard for them. Rooms were spacious and very very clean, hot water and good food at the restaurant. Also , it was a unique experience to volunteer at some schools and meet the beautiful Cambodian children. this was organised through Claire and Bob the enthusiastic hosts. The guesthouse is in a terrific location- close to Pub St but quiet. We thoroughly recommend it and will return
