“Great place to socialise”
Reviewed December 18, 2013

Overall a great hostel. Clean and safe. The restaurant offers great and cheap food. They also offer yoga classes, and they have a pool and a movie theater. The breakfast buffet for $2 is great. Also, they have free airport pickup. You can book your trip to the temples or to the floating village right at the hostel, which makes it a lot easier, as you don't have to haggle with some random tuk tuk driver. Also, it's really easy to meet people here, as everyone hangs out in the bar/restaurant/pool area and you can sign up for different trips and share a tuk tuk. It's one of the best hostels to meet people, which is definitely an advantage for solo travelers. HIghly recommend this hostel.

we booked a private room and were put in the 2nd floor. no elevators but that's fine (i need the exercise, anyway). Free airport pickup! When we arrived the tuktuk driver was already waiting for us with my name on a placard.

the room was HUGE. with a balcony. separate room for toilet and separate room for shower area and sink. A/C worked well and you had a ceiling fan also. TV included which we never used. for the two of us, we had a queen bed and a smaller bed. could've fit three people there very comfortably.

they provided towels (not the cheap flimsy kind, too) and thick blanket.

hostel atmosphere is very communal. stay here if you're keen on meeting fellow travelers and swapping stories, joining pub street chaos after happy hour. definitely go for happy hour here! drinks priced very cheap and quite well-made cocktails. good vibes all around

they have a pool near the bar which i'm sure is a welcome respite from the heat during the hotter months. we went during December so it was quite cool and pleasant.

the staff were helpful. helped me book some tours and were ready to answer any questions i had. they knew a lot about the place and what to do, etc so always a good idea to ask them.

tuktuk drivers easy to find outside. hostel doesn't take commission from them, too, which is really nice. fast and reliable wifi even inside the rooms. they have a movie room (movie tites and scheds posted on the chalkboard on the ground floor) and a yoga room which we never got to try.

our room rate included breakfast but don't expect much. fruit, cereal, no warm cooked food. they allow luggage storage for a minimal fee.

location is an easy 4-5mins walk to old market/pub street area. got to meet one of the managers/owners and she was telling us about the history of the place and their vision for it. they're doing a lot to help the local community.

i thought for the price we paid, we were getting WAY more. i'm extremely happy with this hostel. the only slight improvement i think that needs to be made is to add a mirror inside the room and not just limit it to the toilet. would be quicker for people (especially girls) to finish getting ready.

i'd recommend booking in advance if you're thinking of staying here. this place gets full and you wouldn't wanna have to switch accommodations cos you were only able to book 1 or 2 nights.

The hostel is a terrific place to stay, the staff are friendly and were very accommodating of our group. The pool was lovely and the food was also good, however the breakfast was a little disappointing. I loved walking up and down the stairs, good exercise and being able to lounge around on the balconies was nice. Great stay!

Thanks for taking the time to review us & saying such nice things. I regards to the breakfast, I doubt you can find a better western breakfast for $2. All you can eat fresh fruit, cereals (including muesli), toast (with Vegemite for my fellow Aussies), pancakes, juices, tea & coffee! It costs us more than you pay. I hope you're enjoying the next thing, Happy Trails.

This hostel has everything you could ever need and more. The beds and pillows are comfortable, there's hot clean showers, nice balconies that you can lounge on, a beautiful big deck overlooking a pagoda that you can do yoga or pilates on, pool table, full cinema with a projector, and of course a pool with a bar that's close by. The Khmer staff are so helpful and pleasant and speak great English. The two Australian managers are very hands on and easy to approach with any sort of questions I had about the area. I'd recommend this place to anyone visiting Siem Reap. It's the place to be for a comfortable and fun stay.
