I will be coming back to this hostel soon. For what you are paying, your getting so much which is why i decided to stay longer and spend more there. The food is great for Cambodian standard and the staff are extremely helpful. The two Ozzies, Gus and Dreas, working there are great blokes to deal with or have a beer with. I had lost my wallet and they were very helpful to my situation.

Other things worth mentioning:
- clean and refreshing pool
- 5 buck yoga & pilates
- great facilities like toilet and use of phone
- free bike hire!
- 2 buck all you can eat breakfast.

The SRH is the best hostel I've been to yet! See you guys soon!

AC worked well, beds were a little on the firm side, ample locker space, good bathrooms, and the pool is nice (although not in the sun....but for good enough reason to not get burnt). Not even a 5 minute walk to pub street and all the markets, so you are close but not bothered by the noise. Food was good, not as cheap as elsewhere but as far as quality it's pretty much a sure thing, and they have good western options if you're feeling homesick. I would just get tours from elsewhere, but their tuk tuks are solid enough. Also, this hostel is in the process of upgrading, so soon there will be a lot more to do around there (lots of unused space on the 3rd and 4th floors, and the "cinema" was very lacking). We paid $6 for the dorm room and I would say it's some of the best value I've gotten out of anywhere in Southeast Asia

Stayed at this hostel with my two friends for one week in February and absolutely loved it! This hostel is very good, especially for being in Asia. The staff are superfriendly, the hostel is filled with backpackers and young travellers from all over, the hostel has a pool, and the rooms are clean, and the beds are comfortable. Even tough we didn`t have power for over three days (the power was out in all of Siem Reap) that didnt set us back from having a great time!

I could not more highly recommend this hostel! Best hostel I have ever stayed in. This hostel offers the complete experience, from the moment you are picked up by their friendly tuk tuk drivers, to the helpful staff, great rooms, indoor pool and sight seeing advise and assistance. I could not have asked for a better place to stay, and with welcoming staff and some really cool travelers I certainly felt at home here. Also the managers are very hands on, give great advice, and work closely with the staff to help solve any issue. Overall I found the hostel was really well run and a fun place to say.

The people that come through the hostel are highly diverse, and if your up for a big night I highly recommend you start at the bar at happy hour (50 cent beer and 2 for 1 cocktails). I met some great people here and got a lot of good travel advice too.

The pool is amazing!! After a big day out in the heat coming back to a cold refreshing pool (in a hostel!) was extremely luxurious.

Other great points: - always have WiFi (even though power is unreliable in SR)
-some great food, particularly recommend the chicken burger and beef lok lak but everything's great.
-free bikes to take out for the day
-sight seeing/ trip advice and even a white board so you can organise share tuk tuks to the major attractions.
- they also have a hot tips book where travelers share advice (a good read)
- fixed price for tuk tuks from the hostel with fair prices which makes life a lot easier (no bartering required)
-space, if you need some quite time to chat on skype or hang out they have some excellent common areas, particularly the TV room.
-I stayed in a dorm room, which was really beautiful. Large locker under the bed and lovely wooden bunks, super comfortable beds.

Note to travelers: The hostel supports the Khmer staff in their training and other endeavors. In my experience the staff always do their best to help the customers, but as a volunteer in Cambodia I feel its worth noting the Khmer staff don't have the luxuries you have at the hostel, and they are communicating in a second language, sometimes its just worth reflecting on this when you are trying to resolve your complaint, I personally couldn't fault them in any way.

We switched to this hostel for a night after staying into another hostel the first three nights. Moved out cos of problems with the water at the other hostel. Siem reap hostel was a lifesaver.

Room was clean and spacious. Wifi and AC were good. The large gathering area by the pool was great for hanging out, especially good for the stifling hot afternoons when you just don't want to do anything else but sit by the pool with a beer. The bar area was lively at night too and it added to the atmosphere of the hostel.

Staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Can't wait to return to this place on my next angkor trip!

By far the best hostel I stayed in Cambodia. The location is great, walking distance to the center of town & all the nightlife. I stayed in a twin room for few nights then moved into a dorm for a few nights as I only booked 2 nights initially. The staff were very accommodating & helpful. Both the twin rooms & the dorms were spotlessly clean, large & well equipped. Honestly they had the best & cleanest showers I saw in Cambodia. The bunks were sturdy & comfortable with the added extra of sockets so that one can charge all our gadgets.

The hostel has a few communal areas to chillax in, sorry but I only sat in the bar grabbing a few beers or eating their food. The managers of the Hostel Gus & Driess showed great social responsibility with the training & care they showed with their local staff, which is very important to me. The food was great & the pool area a great place to hang out. They have a great travel desk that can assist with most requests. The fastest wifi in Cambodia! Not sure how or why? Was just grateful to have it. Would recommend the hostel to anyone. One tip book early!

Thanks guys hope to see you soon will defo be back.

Room Tip: Book early they get full due to great value & service.

Booked a single and was put into a 3 person room which was very roomy. Staff friendly and helpful. Common areas are open-air and can get pretty hot. Tours offered by hostel are a bit higher than average but only a couple of bucks more. Short walk across the bridge to Old Market and Pub Street or take tuk-tuk for $1. There are two small air-conditioned malls in the city - Lucky Mall (bit past KFC on main road) and Angkor Trade Center (turn right after crossing bridge to old market). Look for Canadia ATM's to withdraw USD without extra foreign fees (one on pub street inside restaurant). Don't flush toilet paper down the toilet - use the bins beside it.
