“6 USD/night for a bed in a 6-Bed Dorm type room?! A STEAL?!”
Reviewed March 17, 2013

It was actually the first time for me and my cousin to stay in a room shared with strangers. We both were a bit hesitant in the beginning but loved it to bits in the end. We stayed in a 6-Bed female dorm and it was wonderful. The bathroom was always clean (thanks to our room mates and the housekeeping as well). In a country like Cambodia where it's always warm, it pays to stay where there's good-working AC so I'd have to say we were able to sleep like babies every night. The rooms are nice and have their own balconies and in the common areas, they have spots where you could just lounge around and they even have a pool that seems to be well maintained! (Although we never took a dip, it's good to know you have the option to do so) in our stay, we were lucky enough to have been able to take part of the yoga class which was wonderful! They have a free pick-up service too! (from the sinh tourist office) - There's a nearby convenience store btw and the place is just a very short walk to pub street! :) We took a tuktuk on our first day - then we realized how near it was! :) Lovely place to stay and I will definitely would come back.

It was really great stay! A little bit pricey for Siem Reap but also really great, cozy, clean, with great pool, delicious food and the most important with helpful, smiley and friendly staff! Could be a little bit closer to the center, but it is not that big deal. It was awesome!

The Siem Reap Hostel saved our 5 week stay in Cambodia. We meant to volunteer in a rural community, but got sick. We moved into the hostel, they were so friendly and helpful, and we stayed there for the month, volunteering in the city, instead. Best thing that happened to us. We loved the room, the food, all the spaces set up for billiards, reading, tv/movies, yoga, computers, hanging by the pool on a couch, playing board games, socializing...a really friendly flow of good people.

Room Tip: People on a tight budget can be in a co-ed or all women room for up to 6. We took a private room tha...

Stayed for 2 nights but would have liked to stay more. Was a bit hot in the rooms though

Amazing atmosphere and friendly staff

Love the indoor pool and the food is amazing

Location is great with only 5-10 minute walk to old market

For $6 a night you can't beat. Would recommend buying breakfast off the menu- so good!

Was here in late January. Stayed at 3 different places is Siem Reap, this one was the best! Ended up staying here for 10 days.

The pool area and all the balconies are great places to kick back and recover from your nights at Pub St. The rooms are clean and comfortable, there is a ceiling fan and an air conditioner. The rooms also each have an ensuite and a toilet. The food pretty good, and resonably prices. Drinks are cheap. Everything can be organised at front desk. Wi Fi is free and there are 2 computers downstairs available for guest to use. There's almost always a Tuk Tuk outside. The staff are very helpful, and the managers are good fun. The atmosphere is great, theres always someone headed down to Pub St and because its a short 5 mins away rather than on it, you don't have to worry about rowdy crowds stumbling around.

For those who think:
The hostel is far?-The hostel is about 5 mins walk from Pub St and the markets. If you think its too far then you're not going to survive Angkor Wat and should stay at a resort with a tour group.
The pool should be heated?- Its South East Asia, why do you need a heated pool?
The food isn't good enough?- Its a hostel, not a Michelin Star restaurant. The food here decent, it depends what you order. Some of it is even really good.
The rooms aren't clean enough for you?- The cleaners clean it everyday, I've seen them! And they do a pretty good job. If your room is a mess, maybe you should have a chat to your roommates.
Atmosphere isn't as its hyped up to be?- Maybe you should put yourself out there a bit more and learn to be more social with all kinds of people!
Staff don't understand you well enought?-Hostel's don't exactly employ Professors of English Literature, and you're in Asia! They try their best and do pretty well, your turn?
Staff made a mistake?- Cut them some slack, the place is run by people not machines!
Staff aren't courteous enough to you?- You must be a real ***!
The management should try and get rid of all the geckos in the open areas?- its the open areas.... you should travel around South East Asia a bit more, they are like flies in Australia, you can't get rid of them. You can only keep them out of rooms, which they are kept out of!
Internet is a bit slow sometimes?- I agree with you on that one! Again, South East Asia.

So if you're thinking of staying here, don't expect the Hilton, but a great hostel!
And stay in early Tuesdays nights and hang around to join in on the pool comp , you'll make Driess a happy man! As in pool table, which they also have! along with a swimming pool, unfortunately the pool table isn't in the swimming pool.(hint hint management!)

Room Tip: As must multi-stories place, try and get a room on the lower floors, it will reduce your swearing wh...

This is a very nice hostel. The swimming pool next to the bar was reason alone to like this place. The bar was nice and the food decent. Pool table upstairs came in very useful. I quite liked the rooms, the beds were comfortable but I didn't like how the toilet cubicle was right there, not allowing much privacy. Also, I think there was something wrong with the air conditioning as it made the most annoying sound I've ever heard, resulting in hardly any sleep. If it wasn't for this then I would've said this place was almost perfect. That said, I wouldn't hesitate to visit again.

Hi there,
Glad you enjoyed your stay. had you have told us the AC was playing up we would have happily sorted it asap. Not alot I can do about the layout of the dorms, but yours is the first negative comment we've had about it in 7 years.
Happy trails and hope to see you again.
Cheers
