Siem Reap Hostel was by far the best hostel I have ever stayed in. After travelling around Asia, my friend and I booked Siem Reap Hostel intending to stay for three nights and ended up staying for two weeks. Managed by two incredibly friendly and helpful Australian guys, the hostel provided a cheap and comfortable environment in which to relax, meet people as well as amazing opportunities to explore Siem Reap and embrace the culture of Cambodia.

The hostel bar has a great atmosphere to it, with a number of exciting happy hours that are enjoyed by everyone and is a great place to sit with a cold drink and chat to so many different people and listen to good music. The kitchen is great too, with the menu exploring traditional Khmer dishes and is so tasty (cheap too!). We stayed in two different dorm rooms over the course of our stay, both of which were perfectly clean and comfortable, featuring a balcony and more than spacious lockers for our packs. The undercover pool is cool and refreshing after an exhausting day exploring the temples and is large enough that it doesn’t get too crowded and overwhelming. The hostel also provides a yoga room, communal TV room and pool table etc.

The managers and the staff of the hostel go out of their way to make your stay so comfortable, stimulating and culturally rich. The hostel provides a number of tours, including day trips to waterfalls, animal refuge centers, local orphanages and so many more. Also provided is a ‘food walk’ led a member of staff, who shows you around the local food markets and introduces you to local delicacies which you may have been to wary to try without guidance! The tuk tuk drivers are absolutely lovely, and we made many friendships over the course of our stay with the local drivers who so helpful and knowledgeable.

However, I personally think that my stay at the hostel was so good because of the current managers. Driess and Gus are friendly, helpful, funny and perhaps most importantly, passionate about Siem Reap and supporting their local community; thus providing a fabulous environment for both their staff and guests. When I got sick and ended up in hospital, Driess and Gus stayed in contact and personally came and visited me, so lovely! We shared many a drink and laugh over the two weeks, and the hostel people really felt like home which is such a valued experience when you have been travelling for a while.

This hostel is honestly amazing and I have recommended it to all of my friends who are planning on travelling to Cambodia and I hope to return in the near future!

Travelled alone but it didnt matter the managers and staff make you feel like one of the family. The rooms were cleaned spotless everyday. They had a real good menu and happy hour is three hours long. A nice pool and also a free pool table which was a nice touch. I stayed for about a week in total if I could have I would have stayed longer. It was my favourite hostel so far and I've been in about 15 in the last three months. Stay here no question about it.

I just spent three whole months travelling around South East Asia and The Siem Reap Hostel was the best place I stayed during the entire trip. (And the best hostel I have ever stayed in full stop!)

The two friendly, affable managers, are never less than helpful, whether your query be related to the hostel, or just general info about Siem Reap itself.

The large, well stocked bar has a great atmosphere with quality local and western food. As well as first rate music - from the hip to the hits.

If you wanna just chill and read a book, or have a quiet drink you can. But if you want company and conversation that's easy to find too.

The private room I stayed in was large, clean and comfortable, with some nice 4 star touches, and a pleasant balcony

PLUS!! There’s a communal Chill out room, a pool table and even a decent swimming pool.
And a very wide selection of free DVDs in the lobby if that's your thing.

I originally only intended to stay there for one night – I ended up staying for 2 whole weeks…I think that says it all really!

We stayed here 4 nights this week and had a great time. The bar and pool area is great to hang out and meet people. The staff is really friendly and the pool very nice after a hot day at the temples. There is plenty to do, with a pooltable, football table, movie room, reading room and yoga being offered twice a week. We stayed in a private triple room which was clean and comfortable. It had a tv with a good selection of channels and a good hot shower. Breakfast was included at buffet style. The food in the bar was ok, not a large menu on offer but enough. We found it better to eat in town. The only "bad" thing we can think of is you can't change the temperature of the aircon, which wasn't really a problem in our room, but we met people who were either too warm or too cold at night. Also a lot of mosquito's in the room, but I think they were spraying everywhere...
Nice to have lockers in the room. Had a great stay!

Let me start off by saying that I set up a Tripadvisor account for the sole purpose of reviewing this place, as I strongly feel that it should be rated as the best accomodation in Siem Reap

From the managers (Driess and Guss), to the 50cent draft during the 3 hour happy hour, to the beds that felt like home, this place has it all. Did I mention the indoor pool? Being a traveller that sticks to the cheap when seeking out accomodation, this was a novelty, and my word was it welcome.

I stayed in a dorm room with fantastic aircon, and with 6 beds and a comfortable pillow at 6dollars...it does not come cheaper in terms of value for money. I booked in for 4 nights and stayed for 6, I could have done more! There is an organized food walk which gave me the opportunity to sample snake and other unique tastes that I would never have otherwise indulged in...Bucket list, tick!

The staff speak impeccable english and bear a constant smile. Sung-Hek, the best bartender in Cambodia.
Driess and Gus (Aussie Managers), you go above and beyond and have set the bar in terms of hospitality on the traveller front.

Yoga sessions, Beer Pong, and a cool indoor pool, and the best burger in town (This coming from someone who religiously tries to eat local food whilst travelling).

For someone who was travelling solo, I was never alone throughout the duration of my stay st Siem Reap Hostel. The place is just that conducive to meeting good traveller folk, swapping stories about their trips so far.

I'll be back.
