“A real oasis run by the most gentle people”
Reviewed February 24, 2014 via mobile

We spent 4 days at the Golden Mango and cannot speak highly enough about the warm welcome at the airport and hotel, the interest shown by each worker and the wonderful ambiance they have created. The staff work as a close knit team always busy and keen to make your stay the best it can be. Free tuk tuk to downtown with reliable drivers. Tour organizing excellent. Breakfasts (7 choices of 3 courses!) were delicious and presented with care to detail . The Golden Mango helped get our trip off to such good start. Would return in a flash!

Friendly, helpful, "gentle" staff greet you at this quiet, welcoming small hotel that felt like home within a day's arrival. Clean large rooms. Varied menu, consistently good quality food at reasonable prices in charming restaurant. Beautiful pool and serene shady seating areas. Free in-room wi-fi is a bit sporadic. Excellent all-round value. Hotel is a little off the beaten path, but tuk tuks are easy to arrange. We commend Ly for his high-spirited, good-natured, information-packed daily tours at very fair prices. We felt privileged to stay at this oasis in Siem Reap.

The staff were so welcoming and professional. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The pool was BEAUTIFUL! The building and garden area was beautiful and so well kept. This was one of our favourite places on our trip in South East Asia. It's a little bit further out from the centre of Siem Reap but close enough to ride!

This hotel was one of the best places we stayed during our 7 weeks travelling throughout southeast Asia. The staff were all beyond friendly with special mentions to Yung & Tol (hopefully the spelling is right) who were always super helpful. They helped us book our tuk tuk tours to Angkor wat over two days which were great. The location is a couple of k's out of the centre but with free tuk tuk ride's into the main area it made no difference. Plus it was nice to be staying away from the over touristed area. The breakfast was good, the rooms were clean and comfortable and the pool was a very nice touch.

I only stayed here one night as I had been to Siem Reap before and just needed somewhere to crash until my late night flight. This might've been the best hotel I had in all of Cambodia/Laos...certainly it was the best value. If The Golden Mango was closer to the city center it would be 3 times the price but for $20 per night for a single (very spacious) room you cannot go wrong. The tuk-tuk into town is free though you'll pay $3-4 to get back but it's worth it in room savings. They let me hang out by the pool after I checked out and use the shower before by the pool before the long flight home. I was greeted with a cool drink upon my arrival and a very helpful front desk staff. I think they need multiple workers at breakfast though because the one girl they had working was really busy trying to take care of everyone.

The best inn I experienced in Cambodia. The room is clean and food they provided is great. The staffs are friendly and helpful towards your request. Just the location is a bit far from the town centre, but there are some shops and a market in walking distance.

When you come into the hotel having been picked-up by the friendly shuttle driver, you take out your shoes as you were in a Buddhist temple and are offered a cold tea with a refreshing mint-smelling towel, until finally you are checked-in sitting in the lobby by Marorl, the sweet receptionist with a big smile. In a very kind and polite manner and with an enormous knowledge about all the sights and attractions of the region, she will explain you everything you want to need in a very good English, always asking if you need further assistance. You feel directly welcome! I don't know if it is because it's my first time to Cambodia or because I come from cold Germany that I am so impressed by the kindness of the people here...
The accomodation itself? Quiet room, nice pool, sweet tropical garden and good tuk-tuk transfers to the city center for 3 USD.
