“does well.”
Reviewed February 28, 2013

Smallish hotel. Personal. Clean. Big rooms. Quiet and well attended. Free pick up from airport and transport into town, and tuk tuk back is about $3. Has all the facilities you need, from good range of food, drinks, wifi, and service. Some of the service could have been more attentive, but not really an issue. Would happily stay there again if I returned to Siem Reap.

We booked six nights here and stayed five nights. There was a double booking for the first night (even though we booked two months in advance), so they organised another room in the Babel Hotel, plus comped us a free dinner for two and 1-hr massage each (so good that I fell asleep!). The staff are very friendly and have good English language skills. The pool is soooo wonderful to relax in after a long, hot day viewing the temples and monuments in Siem Reap province. It has a great waterfall. The restaurant has five options for breakfast and great value cocktails with dinner. At $25/night, we'd definitely consider this one of the best value for money hotels we've stayed in in the world.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room at the back on the Southern side - there is not much noise in this neighbourhoo...

We stayed here at the end of December after 5 weeks in Hanoi for work. The hotel was lovely. Room was clean, the A/C worked (one of my PRIME requirements in SE Asia weather), the shower was hot, and the staff was helpful. Breakfast in the morning was basic but did the trick. As one reviewer said "where else can you get a nice pool in a $25 room??" The pool felt great after 6 hours of wandering around the wats. The bar always had cold beer.
The hotel arranged a tour guide for us for 2 days and he was great - I'll review him separately. The tuk-tuk driver picked us up at the airport and took us everyplace from then on. He was great! He was our driver for 2 days with the guide, including out to the Bantay Srei temple. He picked us up one morning without the guide and took us 2 places we wanted to go without the crowds at 6 AM. When he heard we wanted Angkor beer shirts, he took us to his mom's shop where we bought them!
I would stay here again even if is not in the middle of town - or maybe because it's not in the middle of town!

We stayed here with friends for 5 nights while visiting the temples at Angkor. It's a bit out of town but the hotel provided a free tuk tuk into town whenever we wanted to go. We also used a tuk tuk arranged by the hotel for 3 days of trips to the temples etc. One day our original tuk tuk driver fell ill while were visiting a temple. He obviously called the hotel and Mr Wann at the hotel arranged a replacement to meet us with a sign carrying our name. We were impressed by such service. All the hotel staff were exceptionally helpful.
The free breakfast was good and the pool looked inviting although not used by us.
Highly recommended.

we stayed in this lovely hotel for 2 nights after having stayed at another place which turned out to be a complete disappointment (even though top rated). We reserved by email and they did reply almost immediately, answering all our questions and being very helpful already. When we arrived we got a very warm welcome, and even though we arrived before check-in time, they gave us our room after a few minutes. The rooms are very nice (we had one in the first floor with pool view) and super clean. Breakfast was included and we could choose from different options, all served with fruits and juice. Coffee, tea and water is free all day long. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful with everything. The hotel itself is a little bit outside the city center, but they offer free tuk tuk service to the city center, so this was no problem at all.
All in all, we would strongly recommend this place!

Room Tip: 1st floor pool view was very nice and quiet

The Golden Mango certainly is good value when travelling on a budget. The rooms are spacious, clean and cool. The pool is very refreshing - where else can you get a pool for $23US a night? The staff are excellent and helpful, they were very good about accommodating a request to change one of our rooms ( we had 2 for our family of 5).

The breakfast was basic but fine for the price. The Golden Mango is further than some other places from Pub St, but therefore has less road noise and is closer to temples. It is a quick tuk-tuk ride anyway (free going there, a few dollars going back - book the hotel tuk-tuk to pick you up because that is how they make their money).

Only issues we had were noisy dogs next door, but I heard that happens only occasionally and the hotel happily changed our room, and one dish in the last lunch we had gave me a mild case of Delhi belly(restaurant was very good otherwise).

Everyone was very friendly -- from the hotel staff to the tour drivers. I appreciated the nice clean rooms, even the bathroom. The staff was very flexible in changing and reimbursing parts of the package. I stayed with four of my friends in a twin and triple room for 3 days and 2 nights and we only paid $80 each, with tour, breakfast, unlimited water and hot beverage, and airport transfers. Thanks អរគុណច្រើន golden mango!
