I stayed 3 nights in golden mange inn during March, 2012. It is a very lovely place thought it is a bit far from the centre, staffs are nice and helpful. It was a pity that the pool was still in construction when I was there, anyway, I will go to SR again, andwill choose to stay with Golden mango next time.

We arrived from Phnom Penh to stay for a few days in Siem Reap before we continued to Thailand. This place will welcome you warmly and give you the best services travelers need.
The place offers true value and will arrange everything to ones needs. I suggest to provide some more variation to the breakfast to earn even better scores. Room is impeccable clean. Swimming pool surprisingly big quality!! Recommend for all family travels!!
Signed, the great family travels

Room Tip: Best Value!!

This hotel offers truly incredible value and the staff is helpful, warm, and attentive. The hotel can arrange pretty much anything for you, from hiring a temple guide to getting a massage or having your laundry done. They also make you feel very welcome by providing a drink when you check in and greeting you by name whenever you pass through. The garden / breakfast area is really nice and I really enjoyed eating out there. You get 5 options for your complimentary breakfast, such as a fried egg and toast, fried rice, noodles, a pancake, or porridge. Each meal also gets fruit and coffee/tea. The breakfast was good but nothing special by SEA standards.

Besides all these great attributes, I can't echo the others' overwhelming praise because while the lobby, garden, and pool all give the impression of a five-star property, the rooms make it look like you're in a motel: very sterile and outdated. The bathroom has a very high step to enter the tub and the showerhead is one you have to hold the whole time - there is no hook to rest it on. I know this sounds nitpicky, and it is, but in a place like Siem Reap there are many fantastic options and hotels that don't do it only halfway.

Not all of this is entirely the hotel's fault, but the WiFi was very spotty, we lost power briefly on separate days, and we found a cockroach in the room.

Overall it felt like a 3.5-star place. Still at $23/night it is undeniably a great value.

Amazing amazing value. The staff here are some of the nicest I have ever come across in a hotel, so friendly and helpful. Pool is lovely and very clean. Our room was spotless and very comfortable, as is the rest of the common area. Breakfast is really good and we had lunch here one day which was really good and great value. Lovely outside area to sit and enjoy a cocktail or just read a book. It is a bit far from siem reap itself (ie you won't be walking there!) but they have complimentary tuk tuks as a result and all thd drivers we had were lovely. Cannot believe what good value it was, I have stayed in 4* hotels bit as good as this place!

We stayed 5 nights in this lovely hotel which is a little bit far from city center. Paid €15 per night for a standard double room with breakfast included. However, the price now is 19€ per night (according to booking.com)

If you don't mind taking the tuc tucs every time you want to go to into town this is a great budget option with a nice swimming pool. However parasols are needed at the pool as it gets very hot!

The service was extremely helpful and friendly.
The tuc tuc drivers that work for the hotel were very friendly too.

The room was very spacious although the windows were old so you have to be careful to lock them well or the mosquitos can get in!
The bottom of the shower curtain was very dirty and old. It needed replacing.
AC was great and the fridge was very handy.
Also, plenty of mosquitoes in the garden area so bring your repellent if you are having dinner.

Food was ok, but nothing too special. It was just convenient to have a sandwich or a Khmer dish every now and then after a long day visiting Angkor Wat but definitely go into town at least once as there are many delicious restaurants. Check out il Forno for exceptionally authentic italian pizzas and pastas.

We would definitely return to this hotel.

You know you're in a good hotel when you don't want to leave it to go out, and given that Angkor Wat is round the corner, the Golden Mango really must be a good place! It is beautiful, very atmospheric with all the wood everywhere and a lovely garden to dine and drink in, a super, aesthetically designed pool, exceptionally well-run and the staff are very genuine and as helpful as could be. We spent six weeks in SE Asia with our three teenage children, and stayed in many places which cost more, but looking back at the end of it all, this was our number one. Well done Golden Mango!

We found this place via Trip Advisor and you can often tell the good ones as they have many good reviews. Lets face it most of the time people only go on the internet to complain, that said I tend to do neither. Even if I have a good experience or a bad one I generally can't be bothered, however, I am waiting for my bus to leave the Golden Mango and in truth I think I would have written a review about this place even if I was at home.

When you first enter the place they sit you down with a drink, take your bags and talk you through your stay. How far town is, how far the temples are, where you can get a Tuk Tuk from etc. The young lad that sat us down was so softly spoken and polite and you think 'nice lad' then you realize that everyone is like that. Most Cambodians are genuine, polite and humble people and all the people that worked at this hotel were no different.

So to the stuff that you want to know:

How was the room: Clean with air conditioning. It is not overly glamourous but do remember we are talking two star!

Is it close to centre: there are hotels closer but this is close to the Temples (40 minutes on a bicycle is you fancy it) but they offer a FREE Tuk Tuk to town anyway!

Swimming pool: Very Clean and warm (even in the rain) with a nice fountain and almost infinite pool feel.

The Food: Cheap (3-4 dollars a meal) and of a very good standard, Cambodian and Western if you please.

What else: we had massages, they did our washing, they booked our bus tickets, they organised bikes for the temples (free) and Tuk Tuk's for town. There was literally no issue that was too big, the hotel is clean and beautiful throughout set within border of leafy palm trees.

We paid $18 a night, which is not overly cheap but for what you get it certainly is!

Highly recommended :)
