Viroth's had come highly recommended by a friend who had stayed there some years ago. There were some good points: beautiful design, nice bedroom, very friendly staff, good location and nice breakfast. However, at $120 per night it was the most expensive accommodation we used in four weeks travelling around Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos and far from being the best. At that price you would at least expect a minibar or fridge in the room, WiFi throughout (it wasn't available in the bar/restaurant area), some toiletries other than one bar of (admittedly very nice lemongrass) soap. The pool is pretty but tiny. The area is quiet at night but if you use your room during the day there is a lot of noise from the air-conditioning extractor of the hotel opposite which continues all day and early evening. Not a problem at night, though.
