We visited Happy Ranch Horse Farm with my parents and two daughters & nephew (aged 7,9 & 14).

A very enjoyable activity, giving us the chance to see the beautiful countryside.

My mother and I went on the 2hr cart ride and were entertained by our enthusiastic guide. The animals appeared to be very well cared for and my children are now pestering me to take them back for another visit before we leave.

I had organised this activity unsure if our 4 year old was too young for it, but it turned out to be one of the highlights for him in Siem Reap. The pony they choose for him - Geronimo - looked about as tame as they get and plodded along peacefully with our son in a saddle modified with shorter 4-year old length stirrups. Helmet too, of course. Very safe and he went on a lead-ride for 1 hour through the countryside. Didn't want to get off the pony when he got back. Had we stayed longer, I would have booked him in for another ride. Do make a booking to avoid disappointment - due to the heat, they only ride mornings and afternoons and they appeared to be very busy at this (peak) time. Good value for money at US$22.50 (certainly cheaper than the equivalent time on an ATV). Would highly recommend for children's activity and a change from temple trips.

We booked the hour long horse ride for 6 of us and 3 cart rides for the older people in our group. As we had several elderly in our group, I was initially quite worried that the ride would be too difficult and taxing for them, but they were very friendly and helpful us throughout the hour long ride.

As it was the first time on a horse for all of us, and some of us were a little nervous being on a horse, Happy Ranch provided a guide to hold on to the horses so we would feel more secure. After a while into the ride, they let go of the leash and allowed us to control the horses by ourselves, which was a very satisfying experience.

We took the sunset ride, and managed to take some great photos along the way. However, we did not manage to stop to take more photos, which was a pity. The owner of the farm was very hospitable and friendly, offering us advice and riding his motorcycle out along with us to make sure that my group was doing fine.

For a first time rider, I would say the hour long ride was long enough.

The cart ride was not very fun though. As the route taken was very bumpy. I would recommend the horse ride, but not the cart ride.

I had a delightful tour with Lucy. The horse riding was a pleasant antidote for the constant sound of motorbikes involved in so many other activities. The conversation was informative and great as well. The scenery beautiful. A great two hour experience.

We booked our trip in Oz and our pick up from our hotel by tuktuk was also arranged. We booked an early morning ride, 5.45-8.45am and arriving in pitch darkness we were not sure what we would find. The farm looks lovely and the horses look healthy and well cared for. We were met with smiling faces at 5.30 in the morning and promptly fitted with helmets and then we were on our way. Our guide Chey was brilliant. Great English, very informative, funny, and great with the kids ( 13 and 15 years) Beautiful scenery, in and over water, through rice fields and through local villages to see real life for these people. Great experience, sore bottoms all round, but really worth it. 3 hours was long enough for inexperienced riders. Opportunity to hop off your horse and wander around a temple and give your legs a stretch. Chey even ran over to a local shop to buy drinks for us. Thank you.
