We did the Ta Prohm temple as part of a tour and we found it underwhelming. It was fairly busy though so maybe if you get a day with less crowds it could be good, and we were also told that if the trees had more leafs it would be nicer. Some of the buildings and trees are very impressive but I would not specifically go out to visit this temple, as part of a tour package it is fine. Must say that locals are very proud of the Tomb Raider film made here.

I loved seeing this temple with all the trees and overgrowth gave us a feel as to what Ankor way would have looked like before being cleared of jungle. This is worth seeing to appreciate what has been done at the other sites.

The Angkor Wat Temple site is a must visit if one ends up in Cambodia. Whats next after Angkor Wat? There are about 100 other temples. There are also a number of other temples in the vicinity of Angkor Wat. If you have only a limited time after Angkor Wat just visit Ta Prohm Temple. The temple is currently under an Indian Cambodia cooperation project for conservation and restoration. This is not only a photographer's dream site. It is an awesome scene where u get exclamations of oohs and wows. The tourists all queue up to take photographs of different scenes. You will see large trees and roots embedded in the concrete temple structures. A paradise for photographers and dreamers!

Ta Prohm Temple is quite spectacular to see with the tree roots intertwining among the temple. Makes for some great photos.

The temple is 40km away from Phnom Penh. It can be ignored if you have plans to visit Siem Reap and temples over there.

This temple is different from the one in Siem Reap.
