My parents & I arrived at Ta Prohm around 11 AMish, December (last week). We explored a few other temples besides the main Angkor Wat complex (which is stunning & well worth attending the sunrise for, by the way) & this one was our favorite. I won't identify which member of our party suggested that if you've seen one mysterious Buddha face, you've seen them all, but needless to say even THAT person adored this temple & it was terribly fun getting some of the most brilliant shots of my parents & myself. It's quite magic here.
Pro tip: I think you could go the opposite direction of the crowd flow (or go multiple times around the correct way). We did this completely by accident & spent the majority of our time away from other tourists - was perfect for panorama images. That said, we didn't meet a single discourteous tourist or tour guide when it came to snapping photos (the giant tree attached below is so popular it has a photo op platform that we're all standing on).More
