We went here really just to see the famous location of the popular tombraider scene of Angelina Jolie.

It did not disappoint, and if I were a movie scriptwriter this place will give lots of story inspiration. The history of the place and the ruins is really a sight to behold.

Be prepared for the long line though, a lot of people are queing to have their photo in the famous tree.

DO NOT MISS! The beauty of nature growing through the beauty of the man-made is stunning. I recommend visiting when the sun is high because the trees provide shade. Visit other temples that are less shaded early or late in the day when the sun is less severe. Many people know this place because of the movie Tomb Raider. While that is an interesting part of the history of this place, it is a blip on the screen. Hire a guide, they know the stories, history, places that echo, etc.

This temple was built by King Jayavarman VII during middle 12th - early 13th century. It is amazing to see huge tree roots growing on the temple structure The renovation of this temple is being carried out as a joint project of Indian and Cambodian governments. The huge trees in the temple complex gives a jungle like atmosphere. This is a nice place for tourists to take photographs along with temple and trees. This temple is said to be dedicated to King Jayavarman mother. A must see place when in Siem reap. The sculptures in the temple is also beautiful.

For some reason, our tour company didn’t have this on the itinerary. Luckily we discussed with guide and added it. The natural state is magnificent and there is a real mysterious feel. If you like tomb raider you shouldn’t miss this. Opportunities for amazing pics.

We had a tour guide (highly suggested) and Ta Prohm was our second temple to visit. It's something special. The trees from the surrounding jungle grow right through the ancient temple. They are left for structural support. This one was a little crowded, so a bit difficult to negotiate around the tourists. It is definatley a must see!
