Minutes away from the dusty roads of the Old Market, is this little oasis that transport us to a charming abode where we were treated like King and Queen.
This quiet 14-room boutique hotel is exactly what we need after a hot day filled with temple visits, away from the bustling crowd and ever-so-friendly vendors and tuk-tuk drivers.
The rooms were new and very clean and comfortable. The bed and pillows were the best I could remember in any hotel, the decor of the hotel was modernistic with a tinge of Cambodian culture.
Now come to the best part. The staff were so attentive and friendly, you feel so well taken care of. Before we ask for anything, the "chief of staff" Ms Phalleap could anticipate what we need (offered to help us call the airline to change our flights, offered us room extension when she realise our flights were in the late evening). She obviously also trained her staff well, nothing I could pick on. And really, we don't need to think of where to have our dinner, the chef here is just top-class, and we were hooked on his food from Day-1, be it Cambodian dishes, western or the spring-rolls (our favorite, goes well with Angkor beer). If I have a restaurant, I'll hire him :)
Well, the only small complaint is the aircon took a while to cool the very large room in this unbearable sweltering heat. But they offered to "pre-cool" our rooms before we return each day, so no big issue.
Overall, we felt very fortunate to stumble on this 3-month old secret, ranked an undeserved lowly rank of 80+. Thanks to Ms Phalleap and all her wonderful staff.
