“Great place to stay”
Reviewed January 11, 2012

I have just left this hotel and would go back if I was to ever visit Cambodia again. I was recently hit by a motor bike and have been bed ridden for 3 of my 4 nights stay there. The room service is great the staff are friendly and they even took me to the international hospitol to get my leg fixed up for free.

The people of Cambodia is absolutely charming, unfailingly polite and keen to please

The hotel is located about 5-10 mins from Pub St, which is the main eating area.

We had 2 rooms with double beds, with views to the pool. The rooms had 2 double beds, with toiletries and tea/coffee facilities. They provided 2 bottles of water everyday. Bathroom was lovely, although no hooks to hang your clothes. Built-in safe. Wi-fi excellent.

Compared to some posher hotels, breakfast was quite basic. There were 2 types of cereal, 3-4 type of fruits and an egg & noodle station. One day they had 4 types of potatoes for breakfast. They did not have bacon or sausages but rather Asian type rice, noodles & vegetables. It was really adequate for our needs and we were quite happy with it. Considering that most of Cambodians loved in poverty, this would have been a feast for them.
The pool was wonderful after a day of touring. Hardly anyone used it. There was also some gym equipment overlooking the pool. Spa was not turned on.

The staff were always smiling and happy to help. We were given welcome drinks on arrival. The only concern I had was walking down a lane way with no lightning at night. I relied on passing motorists to light the way! However the area is a very safe area. There were always tuk tuk drivers outside - US$1 to Pub St. They will always ask for more, but offer them US$1.

Tip: Use the laundry next door (left hand side) to the hotel. $1 for 1 kg of laundry, washed, dried and ironed with a lovely fragrance. Absolute good value.
Youc an hire a tuk tuk a whoel day for $15.
Leave your mark on Cambodia and donate all your spare change into the donation box and then add a few extra dollars.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the pool seems to be the best value. There are no views except into other people...

I like the location away from the noisy crowd but yet its within the walking distance of busy city centre. The room is spacious and clean. The buffet breakfast was excellent. Staff are very helpful. I booked the room through agoda website and its really value for money for 2 to stay.

My fiance and I stayed at New Angkorland for 2 weeks in November. It was my 6th trip to Siem Reap, and I have to say that New Angkorland was the best value hotel I have ever found.

The room we had was very spacious. The floors were carpeted. The flat screen TV large, with a wide range of channels, and the balcony overlooking the pool was wonderful.

We were very impressed by the block out curtains, which allowed us to have a sleep in after busy days in town.

The marble bathroom was large and very nice. It had a bath and 2 showers! The stand alone shower was massive and the water presure was excellent, even though we were on the third floor.

The room was serviced daily to an excellent standard.

The pool area was amazing, and the lounge chairs surrounding it went to good use! Though we were a little disappointed that the spa pool wasn't working for the entire 2 weeks that we were there.

The room came with free wifi. Although not the fastest wifi we have ever had it dd us well during our time there.

The complimentary breakfast was a huge buffet that catered to Asian tastes (don't expect bacon and eggs), but was nice enough.

The hotel is located only 800 metres from Pub Street, and a tuk tuk one way into town cost $1 (although some wanted to charge $2 or $3, we knew that the normal price was $1, so was able to insist on this). It is located in a quiet area and we had no problem with outside noise.

The bed was quite hard, but this is normal in Asia.

The only problems we had with the hotel was that the spa didn't work, and on 2 occasions after coming in late at night they misplaced our key. We ended up taking it with us whenever we left the room as it was an inconvenience trying to sort out their mistakes in the early hours of the morning.

Overall, we found the hotel to be excellent and will definitely stay there again when we go back to Siem Reap next year,

Room Tip: Book your room through Agoda. Don't pay rack rate Tuk tuks into town are $1 each way, no matt...

Myself & my wife stayed at the Angkorland for 3 nights in November 2011 and were very happy there. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.
It was very clean, and the food was lovely, although we only had breakfast as there was so much variety outside.
The location was great, only a 10 minute walk to the lively parts like Pub Street, or a tut tut which takes 3 -4 minutes.
Thoroughly recommend the Angkorland
