This was my fifth time staying at City River and it is just as good as ever. The front desk staff are always totally helpful and responsive and just nice people.
The rooms are spacious with a really comfortable king size bed with doors opening onto a deck where you can sit or dry a few clothes.
The rooftop pool is very clean and a real bonus at the end of a hot day.
This is not a 'flash' hotel, but a really nice clean comfortable place to stay.
The location is just the best in Siem Reap. You can walk in a few minutes to the old market, the restaurants, the supermarket and pub street if thats your thing.
The only thing that is a negative in this hotel is the dining experience at breakfast. Apart from the woman who makes the noodle soup in the morning, she is friendly and professional, the staff are lacking in any initiative or even friendliness. There are plenty of them standing around seeming to not know what to do or how to relate.
The housekeeping staff are the absolute opposite. They will do anything for you and go out of their way to be helpful with lots of smiles and laughter.
The breakfast crew are a real anomaly.

This was a lovely hotel, great location, super friendly staff, amazing roof terrace outdoor pool. Rooms were surprisingly very spacious, defo rate them a 4*.. One of the best showers I've had staying in a hotel, great balcony. My only negative comment for this hotel is that the food was pretty awful. We ate elsewhere for our entire stay. Having said that if I return to siem reap I would stay here again

The staff were just wonderful. I have never been welcomed or greeted so warmly by hotel staff in all my years of travel.
The room was a good size and clean. The bathroom was a little old- but everything worked and the air-conditioning was was a life saver!
The restaurant served good meals and breakfast was mixed buffet and adequate. The area is quiet and everything is within walking distance and Tuk Tuks are right outside the front.
The rooftop pool and are was great and the bar tender mixes a great Mojito or G&T and at Happy Hour- the prices are ridiculously cheap! Order some food from the restaurant and sit poolside and enjoy the view. Book a massage at the front desk and it will be the best $8 you ever spend!
Would stay here again.

We stayed at City River in early July and it was fabulous. Friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms and the rooftop pool was excellent. Tuk Tuk drivers were nearby and it was a short walk to markets and town( or $2US )

Room Tip: We had adjoining rooms for my family. It worked really well.

Stayed here for two nights and really enjoyed it. The room was clean and spacious with a nice big window. The staff were fantastic, really friendly and helpful! We booked at full day Angkor Watt tuk tuk for 15 dollars and a Mekong express ticket through the hotel which made our stay easier! The location was perfect for us, just a five minute walk to all the action (restaurants, markets, pub street). The pool area was lovely, a really nice terrace with a bar and a nice view! I definitely recommend if you are looking for somewhere with friendly staff and prime location!

That about sums it up, a friend and I spent 4 nights here and it was great. Close to the bars and nightlife, staff was friendly and even though they didn't speak great english they tried hard and were very helpful which is way more important. Pool on the rooftop is excellent!!! Rooms were clean and AC worked great. Only thing I could complain about was reservations online didn't work, you should call if you want to to set up a room. Great place and would stay here again!!!

Room Tip: If you only need one room ask for one without a adjoining door to the next room. The doors between t...

My wife and I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in March. It is conveniently located, just a few minutes to the old market and plenty of food places. Rooms were nice and were clean and comfortable. Service was good. Would recommend it to other travellers.
