The staff here go above and beyond to make your stay at City River enjoyable. Rooms are clean and a good size. Location is good, close to art centre markets and just across the river from all the action. And staff are very friendly, helpful and efficient. Stayed for 5 nights and would reccomend.

The City River Hotel is a rare find offering genuine local hospitality with good management and wonderful, helpful staff. The foyer is spacious and gracious and this is continued in the dining room and the rooms. Tiled floors and solid timber fittings and furnishings, enormous bed with euro slats - firm but comfortable with full width balcony. Spacious bathroom with room for two. Cable tv, excellent wifi, spotlessly clean. The rooftop pool and bar are a great place to unwind after the bustle of temples and markets. It is blissfully quiet but within easy walking or tuk tuk of Pub street - for those that want to be where the action is, and close to the Old Market.

The reception staff are always looking to help you and manage the tuk tuks, taxis, guides and travel arrangements to an exceptional standard. Thanks to all the kind, generous and patient staff who made our stay such a pleasure. Their personal attention is very real, not the glib lip service you often get at large chain hotels.

Room Tip: ask for a deluxe room with a balcony

We spent 13 nights at the City River Hotel and enjoyed our stay. Close to shopping and the night life. The staff was friendly and professional. The on site restaurant was good and reasonably priced. Free breakfast was included in the room price. A nice rooftop pool, spa services and bar. The rooms are clean and well appointed. The mini fridge in the room was very useful. Transportation was never a problem, there was always a tuk tuk available. We only booked the Apsara Dance/dinner through the hotel and it was a bargain, $10 USD for a buffet dinner and dance show. There are many more tours available through the hotel. All in all, a wonderful hotel and experience. I will stay there again when I return to Siem Reap.

Perfect location, just outside of the markets/pub street. Quiet street at night, so no worries of poor sleep. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and have a nicely stocked mini bar. We spent 13 nights, and never encountered a problem. The staff was always very polite and friendly. They even found us a nice room fan upon request. It really helped with a quick cool off of the room.

Decent restaurant, with free breakfast. Lunch/dinner meals were reasonably priced and very good.

Like everywhere else in Siem Reap, the tuk-tuks were plentiful, we never waited for a driver.

Good (free!) wi-fi throughout the building, laundry and massage services on site. Rooftop saltwater pool and bar.

Overall a really nice hotel.

Room Tip: If staying for more than a couple nights, opt for one of the suites. Much more room.

The staff at the hotel was very friendly and helpful. The room was big, clean and comfortable with free wifi and free internet at the lobby area. The food at the restaurant was delicious and the massage at the hotel was also good. The hotel is within walking distant of about 5 - 10 mins to pub street and old market area and had a nice rooftop swimming pool which open till 10pm. The area was very quiet at night which make a good sleep. The price was reasonable and the service was good and staff was friendly.

Very friendly, helpful staff. Spacious, clean comfortable quiet room in safe location to wander around. Easy walk to the markets and restaurants of Siem Reap (and the supermarket if you're self catering). Can't think of what more one can want.

Everything about this hotel pleased myself and the team of people I was travelling with. Food was good, staff were amazing, rooms were large and comfy with a fridge and free safe and air con, lovely atmosphere and walking distance to Siem Reap centre. I will be back in Summer 2013, couldn't recommend it highly enough
