“OK BUT COULD BE SO MUCH BETTER.”
Reviewed March 24, 2011

This hotel seems great when you first arrive, but then you find its very dated and old.
The staff are great, but perhaps too many of them at the receptionist desk. The pool is fantastic. The breakfast is the worst i have ever encountered there are flys on the food and the juices are very concentrated they take your breath away. The hotel is quite far out of siem reap centre, but its only $3 in a tuk tuk. This hotel is ok but the rooms need modernized and new carpets as mine was filthy, also the breakfast needs looking into, the guests that stay here are mainly chinese/korean.

Initially this hotels promises so much but for some reason it just fails. The whole layout and fittings are wrong. It just seems to be void of atmosphere. Its not the staff, they are very nice and I struggle to put my finger on it but it is just dead. So my advice is, try another hotel.

This could possibly be the friendliest hotel I've stayed in. When we booked our rooms we had a free upgrade then when we arrived we were given yet another upgrade!
The staff were so friendly and eager to help.
Although the hotel is slightly out of town, there is a free hourly shuttle bus in to the town centre however we used the tuk-tuks for $3.

Royal Angkor Resort & Spa is one of the best hotels in Siem Reap. Service is excellent, staff is very friendly and professionals. It feels like coming home. Great swimming pool, the biggest in the town. The hotel offers free shuttle service to the centre of the town. Room & bathroom were comfortable, clean with beautiful design. I definitely recommend this hotel for either business or leisure. Great place!!!!

I spent New Years in Siem Reap with two friends and my boyfriend. We spent NYE in the center and came back around 2 or 3 am and decided to go for a swim, the staf was so nice that they even turned the lights of the swimming pool on, provided us with towels and we were able to order drinks and food!!! All these with a big smile!

It was my bf's birthday while staying at the Royal Angkor Resort... They checked that on his passport when we checked in and surprised us with 4 nice staff knoking our door singing happy birthday with nice bday cake and a bottle of wine!!!! Also for NYE they gave us a bottle of wine!!

Breakfast is really nice, a lot of different choices!

The best of this hotel is the staff!!! they are always at your service and smiling!!!

We stayed for two weeks 26th Dec 2010 to 10th Jan 2011 and were blown away with the attentive staff and excellent customer service. A huge swimming pool with plenty of sun beds, good sized, clean rooms, a great location and a smile from everyone you meet.
We have been lucky to have previously stayed at some great hotels such as, the Burj in Dubai, Raffles, Shangri La's, Four Seasons and many major branded hotels across the world, but I have to say the was by far the best. The service levels at this hotel make the others look like grumpy amateurs...
When using the restaurant if the kids didn't fancy anything on the menu, NO PROBLEM, the chef would do his best to accommodate fussy eaters and as long as he had the ingredients, he would make something special, for both young and old alike !
You are only 10 mins away from the centre of Siem Reap by a $3 Tuk Tuk ride or the hotel's free shuttle bus, where there are many additional restaurants to choose from. The hotel's Tuk Tuk drivers would even wait for you and take you back when you are ready. You are only 10 - 15 mins away from Angkor Wat and 10 mins from the airport, in a great peaceful tranquil location.
The whole team of staff from the cleaners, door men, pool boys, receptionists and waiting staff to the management were attentive, helpful and interested in you without being pushy or over bearing - they all seemed to be very proud of their role in making your whole experience memorable.
My kids are fussy and even before we left the hotel they were talking about when we were returning - my wife has already started looking at next years dates to ensure we can get booked in !
We can not explain fully in writing how marvellous our stay was - truly a unique experience from a hotel whose whole DNA is about making the guest feel welcome, at home and part of the family by offering them a customer centric service that we have never experienced before. Well Done !

We've stayed there for three nights and were very happy with the hotel staff and premises. The hotel is outside the city, but after seeing the center of Siem Reap (American bars etc. - why go to Cambodia for that?) we much preferred to be outside. Spacious room, though some (partially) dead insects around - still very clean and nice for Cambodia. The hotel organized an excellent tour guide for us. We can also recommend the hotel restaurant, which has very good food. And there is a very large and nice looking swimming pool in the backyard, though we haven't made use of it.
