“quiet hotel on main road”
Reviewed July 11, 2012

stayed 3 nights as part of the intrepid tour room was comfortable aircon cold breakfast was ok, but you were asked to chose 1 of the 7 breakfast options and if you wanted something more there was a small cost involved
We stayed in a room towards the back of the hotel on the 3rd floor so it was very quiet
The hotel was away from the hustle of the main town so a tuk tuk was needed to get to and from there but it no big deal as they are great fun and costs around $ 2 plus tip.Tuk tuks are everywhere The drivers are friendly and love to chat

The hotel is on the main road into Siem Reap, so is slightly outside the main hussle & bustle of the main town - but I think that this is good thing as the town or the temples are only a TukTuk ride away.

For me this was the worst hotel we stayed in as part of our tour - yes it has a pool, but that is about the only good thing about the hotel.

We stayed in a room overlooking the pool - these are the best rooms as noise from the main road is minimised.

The rooms are very dark - as they are decorated in throughout in dark wood.
The worst thing about the rooms are the bath / showers. The en suites in the rooms didnt have a shower over the bath like in most locations, but instead had a corner bath tub, with a shower head that you pull out and no where for you to hang it. This wasn't too bad for me as I am short and could hold the shower over my head - but for my husband and from anecdotal evidence from our tour group if you are tall (over 1.7m!) the shower wasn't long enough to hold over your head. So in this hotel 'tall' people need to sit down to shower. On the 2nd night my husband decided to take a bath as he thought it would be easier - but guess what there wasnt enough hot water!
The a/c was noisy.
Now I am nit picking but it had the worst selection of TV channels as well.

There is no safety deposit box in the room, and although they will store things in the hotel safe, everything needs to be wrapped up in newspaper, which is a pain everytime you need to access your package to get more cash.

Breakfast - well it was included - but was off a set menu, and there was no flexibilty in the choices. If it stated the choosen dish came with coffee, you are not allowed to swap this for juice or water. The food wasnt very good - and the best choice on the menu was a baguette.

We also had drinks in the restaurant and the service was awful, the staff were more interested in chatting on the phone. We complained to the reception, and ended up being caught in an argument between the reception & restaurant staff over whether the restaurant was even open. (Again anecdotal evidence suggests we werent the only people to find ourselves in this situation!)

From people watching at breakfast I think that the hotel gets most of its business from tour groups (there were 2 different Intrepid groups staying there during our visit) - which has made it lazy in regard to providing good service and relies on its pool to keep the guests happy.

If, this hotel didnt have a pool - which is just what you need after a day of temples - I think that many of the tour groups would pull out as the operators would receive more compaints.

This is the only place I stayed on the three-week trip to Cambodia with an elevator. It is a western-style hotel with a pool. Aircon was cold and the hotel was quiet even though it was quite busy. My room was 20 USD. Watch your head when going into the bathroom as the doorway is rather low!

My wife and I stayed here for three days while on a Cambodia Tour with Intrepid. We loved the pool after a hot day of touring the temples of Siem Reap. I also couldn't pass on a full hour massage which ranged from $7 -$10/hr. A beer store was about 20 meters away from the hotel. The restaurant breakfasts were satisfactory. The Bar Street was a short $2 -$3 tuk tuk ride from the hotel where a majority of the bars & restaurants could be found. The WiFi was complimentary but I found the signal the weakest in the room but satisfactory if you sat on the chairs outside of the room. The room was large, air con & tv were satisfactory. The was no safe in the room so we used the hotel's safe at reception which worked well.

Stayed here with a group for 3 nights. Room was ok although the shower was poor.

Breakfast was the worst I had in Cambodia and Vietnam. And not that close to the centre.

Would not choose this hotel myself.

the hotel is in a reasonable area, a 10 minute tuk tuk ride to the centre and 'Pub Street'; the rooms are basic but have good tv, wifi and air-con; breakfast is provided in the adjacent restaurant and is very good

Room Tip: check the taps, showers etc work before saying bye bye to the bell boy

I stayed here for three nights as part of an Intrepid Tour. The rooms were basic, but clean, quiet and well air-conditioned. My room had a TV, fridge and big window looking down to the reception entrance and restaurant. The mattresses were very firm. Bathroom was clean, no problems with hot water and... I wouldn't say "spacious", but big enough to be used comforatbly.

Free Wi-Fi available. The on-site restaurant is alright. Our group ate breakfast there of a morning, but I didn't have any other meals there. Note: the baguette is better than the toast/bread.

The pool is clean, modern and a life-saver after a long, hot day at the temples.
