Have visited Bayon temple second after visiting Angkor wat main temple first in my Siem Reap tour. It is situated just to the north of Angkor Wat temple, It takes about 10 minutes ride by tuk-tuk from Angkor wat temple to Bayon temple. The temple was once at the centre of the ancient city of Angkor Thom. The temple is also called as King Jayavarman's Temple.
When I visited in the afternoon around 2:00pm it was crowded. Have to wait long time to take pictures without people in frame. The temple has many towers with gently smiling Buddha faces on each. Inside the temple tower there is a sanctum to offer prayer to Buddha.
Another attraction, Baphuon Temple is located at 5 minutes walk from here.
