From what I remember, Preah Khan was huge but repetitive. The only parts I really enjoyed were the colonnade and pond in the back, which were beautiful. We also saw Preah Khan towards the end of our Angkor trip, so it could have just been us tiring of temple-touring.

A good temple to start at if you wish to avoid the sunrise crowds at Angkor Wat. Quite different to many of the other temples so remains interesting even after a full day of temples.

Our personal favourite this time around, the temple was built by King Jayavarman VII as a dedication to his father. Originally built as a Buddhist monastery and school, it was also the King's residence for a short period of time. The cylindrical columns on the building next to the main temple is really extraordinary. This temple is huge and is full of passages and carvings. Lots of photo ops.

Interesting architecture. NIce to see it as it is, no renovation. Can get beautiful picture of the stupa in the middle--not like a candle as a guy there kept telling you.

Yes, I added this temple when doing the itinerary, and it didn't dissappoint, i took my time, it is quite large, and a real delight to wander and soak up the ambiance, I went during a quiet time of the day and the area wasn't overloaded with people which provided great photo opportunities!
