“Old world charm in a good location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

The Casa Angkor looks just like it does in the photos. Old world charm and friendly staff.
The hotel is close to most things and has plentytxc of shops, massage, supermarkets and places to eat nearby.
The markets and Pub Street is only 5 minutes and a couple of dollars away.
The rooms are big nod clean, the pool was refreshing and the breakfasts were good.
The staff were very helpful and friendly at all times.
The air on was not as cool as it could have been and it was also a little noisy. The staff did try to fix it but it needed more than they could do. The shower / bath was good and the water was hot.

Would stay there again as we enjoyed the old world charm of the place and the price was very good.

Room Tip: Make sure that the air con in your room is working well.

upon arrival, greeted by the most cheerful reception you find, then aat breakfast at the casa restaurant, the greatest lady you ever find greets you every time, in the morning, for breakfast,
she SMILES and serve you like the only person she is serving. Her name is voon and when you want to have a smoke, the ash tray appears when you have sited outside.
By the pool is one of the most smiling guy you ever see asking you what drink you would like and if you are swimming, he hands you one of those towels that are provided when you are at the pool.
Every staffs that you meet have a smile on their face and greets you with a hello or something.
Even the guards outside the hotel, in their little boot gives ypou a warm smile when you walk pass them, in the morning, evening or late at night.
This the 4th or 5th time I have been here and everytime, the warm treatment that you receive
and knowing that your booking and airport transfer are process / confrim, it makes your holiday
very much stress and you do noy have to worry.
Many thanks to them.

Room Tip: 2nd floor so that you do not have to wait for the lift, only ONE.

My family of four has stayed in Casa Angkor for two nights from July 11th to 13th. The usual number of guests allowed in a room was three but Mr. Chhim, the very helpful hotel staff has talked with the manager if he could allow us to stay in one room and then they have permitted us. I thank Mr. Chhim for the extra mile service he has given us.
The room was very well-maintained, breakfast was great and amenities are excellent. Reception staff as well as room attendants were very attentive to our needs. I highly recommend this hotel if you ever visit Siem Reap.

The hotel is in a side street several blocks from all the buzz of the town - an excellent setting. It provided a haven away from the centre, and exuded elegance, some of it a little faded. The wide verandahs and balustrades, old style bicycle placed in a corner, rounded wooden chairs carefully positioned and peaceful pool setting added to the charm. My room was a little dark, however comfortable. The bathroom needed some paint work and freshening up but everything worked well.
I had asked the hotel to arrange for someone to meet me at the airport, which did not happen. Instead I used a taxi service, which was cheaper ($7 instead of the hotel price of $12) but the driver kept hassling me to make use of his services the next day!
Breakfasts were relaxing and there was a good selection on the buffet, including some unusual, home made fruit spreads, and it was great sitting at the front of the hotel near the side garden.
The spa was great - with excellent massage and a 15 minute foot rub thrown in with the stay.
The staff were all friendly and helpful. They had a helpful selection of leaflets on activities, people to help advise and book, including a most enjoyable cooking class. There were Tuk-tuks outside ready to take guests wherever they would like.

A warm, friendly welcome. A lovely French feel to the decor and it was clean, calm and relaxing. A great location for the town centre, but far enough away to enjoy the peace. A small pool (but we didn't need it), a comfortable room, friendly staff. Will stay again and recommend it to others.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It wasn't impressive from the outside, but when we stepped inside to check in,I suddenly felt like I was suddenly transported back in time to when the French were still around. The small, open air lobby with its wooden furnishing somehow helped create that atmosphere. We were welcomed with a glass of refreshing pandan tea and a cold towel, which felt great during that humid afternoon. My wife and I stayed in Rm. 239 which had a comfortable double bed. It had all the amenities one would expect from a typical hotel. Our only problem was with the airconditioning which didn't cool the room properly. They fixed the problem by having us leave the key in the power dock all day,so when we came back the room was cooled to our liking. Their breakfast buffet was not spectacular but had just enough choices of food. I liked their Khmer coffee,so I always had a second cup.I didn't see any problem about having Wifi in the room because I preferred to read my emails at the cafe or at the lobby where I felt more relaxed. Plus points for the hotel's location---the shopping center and market are within walking distance. For the price we paid,Casa Angkor hotel was a great find.

Room Tip: Check the airconditioning of your room,or insist when you check-in that you get a room with aircondi...

Casa Angkor is a nice, colonial type place in a quiet side road of Siem Reap Old Town. Old Market, restaurants, pubs, banks and shops are easy to reach. Poolside bar and pool are nice though not special at all, but the massages at the hotel's spa are absolutely a dream, done by very qualified persons. For tourism or business trips alike, a good value for money!
