Myself and three other adults recently visited Cambodia. We used the services of Thy Ing our guide from Siem Reap Angkor Private Tours. We were collected from Phnom Penh airport and transferred a short distance to our hotel to drop off our luggage before visiting Choeung Ek (The Killing Fields), The Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum and The Royal Palace. Thy gave us an excellent insight into each of these places and he was very knowledgeable on the history of each one. He returned us to our hotel that evening and arranged to pick us up the next morning for our drive to Siem Reap. On the way there we stopped at Skuon otherwise known as’ tarantula village’ where we were able to see and sample the local delicacy fried tarantula! We also visited a typical Cambodian village and were taken to see a spectacular ancient bridge before being dropped off at our hotel in Siem Reap.

The next 3 days Thy drove us to various places including Angkor Wat (The largest religious monument in the world), Angkor Tom, Bayon Temple of smiling faces, Ta Prohm Temple (Where the film Tomb Raider was made) plus some other amazing temples. We also visited a mountain temple and had a blessing from one of the monks. Thy also took us to Kompong Phluk the ‘floating village’ accessed by boat to see how people live in houses above the water. A very interesting and must see village. We were sad to leave Cambodia and thanks to Thy, felt we had a very memorable stay.

Overall we were very pleased with our stay in Cambodia and more than pleased with our guide Thy who showed us the excellent places in both Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. His knowledge of all the places and their history is excellent. He speaks very good English, he is very friendly, his driving is excellent and we always felt very safe with him. His pricing is also excellent.
We would highly recommend using Thy as a guide and when we return to visit Cambodia we will be using him again. Thank you Thy for your excellent service we have very fond memories and will remember the fantastic and interesting places you showed us.

Friendly, knowledgeable, funny, and intelligent are just a few words to describe Thy, our private tour guide for our two day adventure around the Angkor Archaeological Park and the Tonle Sap. His knowledge helped us have a better understanding and appreciation of the local history and culture, from the Hindu and Buddhist imagery on the temples to the fishing families in the floating village.

He expertly planned out our visit, avoiding masses of tourists, all while packing our itinerary with all the important sites on our list. We were even able to make small adjustments to the itinerary on the fly; you can’t miss the sunset at the Tonle Sap. Did I mention he’s a great photographer? Our best photos are all thanks to Thy.

Traveling between sites was easy and comfortable in his vehicle stocked with air con, cold water, and refreshing towels. He arrived promptly with a smile at our hotel on both days. Also, the price beats out those large, impersonal, group tours.

I highly recommend you go with Thy for an unforgettable experience in Cambodia!

We booked a 2-day private tour with Thy and were grateful that we did. Thy was prompt, knowledgeable, friendly, and flexible. He showed us around the major temples of Angkor and gave us some background knowledge about the temple and the history, something that we wouldn't have received if we went there on our own.

Thy also timed our visits to miss the larger tour groups. While there were still a lot of people around some of the temples in December, we were always walking in as the large groups were walking out or visa-versa. It was also worth booking the private tour so we could be on our own schedule and not have to negotiate and haggle with the Tuk-Tuk drivers. They can transport you but can't guide you.

I would highly recommend Thy as you look at tour packages. His prices are reasonable and we probably spent less than if we booked multiple two-day tours on a per person basis, though his prices are just for his time and transportation. You still need to purchase entry tickets.

For our vacation in Siem Riep NOV2013, my husband and I and our friends chose a 1.5 day guided temple tour with Mr. Thy Ing and it was absolutely FANTASTIC from beginning (when I contacted his company via e-mail to secure booking), to the end when we shook hands and parted ways as friends. Highly recommend a private, guided tour of Siem Reap as you have the comfort of a 4WD reliable vehicle with air-con; cool towels, bottled water along with the wonderful, knowledgeable Thy to expertly guide you round the temples as he enthusiastically shares the history of Siem Reap in a most unique, interesting way.

Additionally, we very much appreciated the way Thy knew his way round each of the temples and made sure we timed our visits so as to avoid the masses of tourists. At Bayon, we were practically the only people at the site and it was fantastic for photos and experiencing this inspiring location. Ta Prohm was a bit more crowded (very popular place), but the other temples we visited it truly felt as though we were the only ones there.

Thy instantly made us feel welcome and has a kind and friendly disposition. You can tell he really enjoys his job as a tour guide and we found his narration of the temples' history to be thorough, accurate, and humorous! There is no way we would have learned as much as we did if we had done a self-tour or taken a tuk tuk. You simply MUST have a professional such as Thy to point out all the interesting details of the temples, as well as the stories behind many of the intricate stone carvings. He also has a great eye for photography and pointed out several good spots to take pictures and even took photos for us which was great.

Another highlight was his suggestion to visit the Cambodian Artisan center - this was amazing! We were able to see Cambodian people creating beautiful works of art and handicrafts, and there is a lovely shop on the grounds as well where you can purchase very fine silk and other one-of-a-kind items and gifts.

Thank you, Thy! You made our holiday in Siem Reap wonderful! Again, I highly recommend Thy and Siem Reap Angkor Private Tours. It is the BEST way to experience Siem Reap!
