This hotel is the closest to the entrance gate to the temples. It is therefore very convenient for visiting the temples and then popping back for lunch and a swim before more afternoon exploration. This worked very well for our children. If you are in search of nightlife however, I think one should choose a hotel located in the town where you could just walk out to the restaurants.
The hotel gives the impression of needing some refurbishment, but I must admit that everything worked and the bathroom was new.
All the staff were extremely efficient and very friendly. My special dietary requirements were dealt with very professionally and once the staff knew me and my needs I did not need to request anything - they were on the ball!
The gardens are lovely and spacious.
We had a fabulous time in the hotel and absolutely no complaints.

Perfect location to the temples. The hotel staff is beyond courteous and accommodating.
No need for your own car. The tuk tuks are available from the hotel entrance for $2 to get to the temples and down to the market. We were there for 6 days and the breakfast buffet was always the same. The dinner and lunch menu were also always the same. My husband had to send back his undercooked chicken on 2 different occasions. We went to pub street a few times for lunch.
We had a tour guide for 2 days and found it unnecessary for most of the time but it was nice the first day to really understand the temples. We took a car to the airport for $20.
Our first room was nice but was always kind of muggy. We stayed late and changed rooms for a few hours and the second room was so much better air quality.
The hotel was nice but we spent most of the time outside the hotel exploring (reason you go to Cambodia!)
We walked to the ceramics center and made some pottery and had them deliver it the next day.
We also went to the museum, the market, Kulen Mountain, did a cooking class and a bike ride to Beng Melea and of course the temples. We both got a massage which was really nice.
Wonderful trip.

The staff of this hotel all deserve the highest praise for their courtesy, diligence and efficiency.

They were fantastic when we arrived today with short notice due to Chinese New Year.

Nothing was too much trouble and we settled in a wonderful room overlooking the spectacular pool scene. Just wonderful!!

It's a very nice 5-star hotel but not the best compared to other Starwood 5-star properties. Nevertheless, the rooms are clean and spacious with very strong A/C. They only allow customers to use tuk tuk or their own hotel car for charters. I didn't see A/C taxis plying the town, so if you don't want to be gouged, find a driver on your own beforehand. We didn't pre-arrange one so paid above market for our own car (USD $35 within the small and big circuits for the day), although the driver was exceptionally professional and courteous. Various deals are offered on-site, such as redeeming 750 points for USD $10 off and a 1-hour massage for USD $25 to relieve stress from temple hopping. Requests are generally quickly met and their English comprehension is decent. Being the closest hotel to the temples (10-15 min), we even had time to come back at lunch to eat and relax a bit at the hotel.

It seems that the hotel has not been properly kept up, especially the pool area.

Compared to other Le Meridiens, this one falls below standards, however, for a hotel in Cambodia, it is very nice.

I felt the restaurants were overpriced and better food could be found on pub street.

Great location of hotel to Angkor entrance.

This venue has vast echoing public spaces with high ceilings. It offers large rooms but, curiously for this location, few with a balcony. We were supposed to have access to a separate lounge with our executive room - this turned out to be free soft drinks in the lobby lounge! We were told that this was the result of an unannounced change of policy. Management need to give consideration to relocating the bar - the first refuge for thirsty travellers - from its present little used location to the lobby where it can be easily found.

Hotel has a pretty internal garden and an inviting pool area after tours round the temples. Angelos restaurant offers good quality food at not too expensive prices once you get past the rather inexperienced staff.

Proximity to the temples is an advantage and nothing in Siem Reap is too far away

Room Tip: try for a room overlooking the pool to avoid noise from the main road outside

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you very much for your time to offer a constructive feedback for our hotel.

We apologize for the misleading information that you have been given. Our hotel offers complimentary soft drinks, coffee, tea and chilled juices from 10am to 10pm in our lobby lounge when a guest books a deluxe or suite.

Thank you for the suggestion on relocating the bar area. I shall have a discussion with our food and beverage team on this matter.

We shall organize training for our food and beverage associates and will guide them to offer good and attentive service to our guest.

If you have plans to visit Siem Reap in the future, please do not hesitate to contact me directly to make a reservation.

For Asia this hotel is very average. If you are used to Asia 5* and expect that you need to pay more per night in Siem Reap for some reason.

My overall notes are
- service is average overall but excellent in small pockets
- its more of a "pit stop" hotel to rest your head
- rooms hit and miss
- no place to sit outside for breakfast

The rooms are clean and style is nice. Ours had a really strong musty smell though which was quite unpleasant. We were originally put in a room which was obviously smoking room - it stank. After suggesting we burn oils to mask the smell they agreed to move us. I was offended by the initial suggestion - they should have moved us without question.

If you're a cocktail person don't bother - they are very amateur at this! I can easily burn holiday spend on a good cocktail but kept my money in my wallet here. We ate here on our first night due to late arrival. We ordered 3 dishes. 2 turned up. When we asked about the third it arrived after we finished the rest. It was also undercooked so we sent it back and they didnt charge. The restaurant was empty so they weren't exactly rushed off their feet.

Some staff here were excellent and really are 5*++ - one of the concierges was top class as was a young man on the front desk. But it was the lack of consistency - if all of the staff could be so attentive that would be great. More training needed.

If you want 5* service be prepared to pay for it. Raffles and Le Residence are 2 we were recommended. If you don't want to pay that much this place is good as a temple touring pit stop with a nice pool!

It is our honeymoon. Le Meridien made zero acknowledgement. Shangri La gave us chocolates, a letter and the best room in our bracket. Renassiance did the same. Le Meridien did zero. Not even a note.

Breakfast is all inside and sounds like 'feeding time at the zoo'. Everything echoes and clatters. They would be better off playing some music to take the edge off and there is no shortage of outside space so not sure why everyone has to sit inside?

WiFi poor but maybe that's the area? Also, should be offered free as standard.

With a few tweaks to service this hotel could be great. Some simple changes needed to take it to the next level.

In summary it's a good hotel with average service and smelly rooms. I would not recommend it but you need to get your wallet out for better. If you want a decent place with a nice pool it will do.
