“Classy cafe' on Sivutha Boulevard, Siem Reap, Cambodia”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 6, 2014

The " Glashouse Deli and Patisserie " is part of the " Park Hyatt Siem Reap Hotel ",with its separate entrance on Sivutha Boulevard.People who have been to Siem Reap before will remember this hotel as the " Hotel de la Paix " (before the extensive renovations).Step out of the heat and humidity into this air-conditioned cafe' heaven, and you will have a hard time leaving again, especially if you can sink into one of the soft sofas and chairs.Approach the entrance slowly and someone will rush to the door and hold it open for you. This cafe' is not very big,and at times it is hard to find a place to sit down, with several tables occupied by laptop-equipped students enjoying the free WiFi.But there are additional tables in an adjoining room.Service and food/drink quality is what you came to expect from a Hyatt Hotel.Just excellent. There is a choice of several great sandwiches (the Salmon sandwich being my favorite),kept in a refrigerated display case. The Gelato icecream (lots of flavours),Strudel slices and Danishes are all excellent. As are the coffees, cappuccinos, teas and fruit drinks. There is also a small menu.My wife and I found the prices reasonable for a Hyatt Hotel.German Executive Sous Chef Martin Robl might even stop by for a chat. Some advice for travellers on a tight budget:After 18.00 the Glasshouse Cafe' sells off its remaining excellent breads and rolls at a reduced price. Before you leave the cafe' enjoy a tour of the hotel lobby with its great looking bar and art work.Leave by the main entrance and again someone will be waiting for you and hold the door open.

“The best of the best :-)”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 15, 2014 via mobile

This place is fantastic , the quality of food turned out here is second to none... A bakery very western styled and priced but with a tranquil fill to it that settles you from the shimmering outside heat.... And as a special tip for you all...EVERYTHING HALF PRICE IN HERE EVERY NIGHT AFTER 6pm, but be quick as it goes extremely quick ...usually by elderly expat teachers around 6.15 walking out with 2-3 large bags full of food for the following few days ...best get there at 6 to be in with a chance...great service , great location..brilliant polite staff..overall Fantastic ....I will always continue to recommend this place to anyone and everyone ....and yes I will BE BACK :-)

“Robbed - watch out while paying”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 26, 2014 via mobile

Just paid, turned away to get my bag, returned to the counter and instead of change from $50 I get change from $20. I ask the guy at the till and he point blank tells me it was a $20. After a few minutes I leave as I have lunch down the road but think through and remember my last big bill was $47 at the Blue Pumpkin last night and I definitely had a $50 in change from a $100 and not spent it since.

I purposely used the $50 to split it and get change. I hope that the hotel management look at the cameras at approx. 13.45 on Sunday 27th April 2014, my bill was $12 for breakfast and smoothie. The camera over the till should make interesting viewing!

A shame as a good but expensive place for breakfast or coffee in comfort. The cheapest water is $4 which is a rip off and they don't do glasses of filtered water like Blossom round the corner but if money is no object or you are used to Western prices don't worry.

My wife is going to laugh at this as after 2 years constant travelling I take pride in not being ripped off and knowing all the scams!

Anyway watch out!

“Awesome”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 19, 2014

After a really bad experience at another cafe across the road, finding this gem during Khmer New Year was what we needed - their lattes are wonderful; the service lovely and considering it is in a five star hotel, the prices are reasonable.
