Checked into SR Green Home Guesthouse. The home is clean and spacious. Housekeeping is done daily and can easily match any 5 star hotel. The hotel manager, Mr Punlok, is friendly and will go beyond his duty to ensure our requirement is met. e.g arrange for our bus ticket and pick up on our onward journey fr SR to Phnom Penh. He also arrange to pack our breakfast for our sunrise sighting, without us requesting for it. (I requested for the same in Chiangmai hotel and I received a very reluctant "will check with the kitchen cook"). Even offered us his personal hotspot when the hotel wifi was unstable. This little gesture really meant a lot to us. Thank you to Mr Punlok and his team for pampering us during our stay in SR. But as there is no lift, please request for a lower floor, if there is difficulties of climbing the stairs. As with most of the guest home in Cambodia, the staircase are rather steep. And another request, please update your guest home profile pictures, it is not doing justice to the actual scenario. Oops, the home is on the main road with plenty of nice restaurant and friendly convenient store nearby and just 5 mins from Night Market. Will definitely return if there is a chance of revisiting Siem Reap. Kudos to all the staff of SR GH Guesthouse. Keep it up!

Room Tip: The room that I stayed in is like a little apartment minus the kitchen..complete with room, bathroom, living room and balcony facing the morning sunrise - facing the back of the guesthouse.

I was in this hotel in May 2014
Everything was great. In compare with feedbacks from another hotels there was no mosquitoes, no smell from water, hot water was all the time, electricity disappeared only once for 15 minutes (as I understand it disappeared in all district, not only in this hotel). Good breakfasts. Every-day cleaning. HUGE rooms :) Very quite at day and night time.
Receptionist guy speaks English very well. He is really helpful - can help you to find cheap tuk-tuk to temples or somewhere else (prices are really lower that you can find yourself on street).

BTW, he found car for us with quite low price. Driver has really good English. He speaks English, Thai, Cambodian and Japanese. He knows a lot from history of temples and Cambodia. He was like free guide for us :)
You can contact him directly to discuss your route and prices: 089787839 (Cambodian number) - Ka Ka. I really-really recommend him!

Room Tip: My room had window not to road. It was really quiet.

There are some cheaper hotels out there but with all the perks, Green Home is unbeatable. We booked 3 nights and then stayed for an extra night. For $17/night, we get a room with balcony (and a huge living room that we never used), great location (relatively calm and 3 minutes biking from the main strip), free breakfast, free bike rental, free pickup from bus station.

The staff was always welcoming and helpful. The tuktuk driver Tony that they sent to the bus station for us had to wait a couple of hours because our bus ran late. He was very nice as well and if we had wanted to do the Angkor tour by tuktuk, we would definitely have gone with him. (We biked instead.)

And yes, the stairs are steep, good practice for climbing Angkor temples though :)

The staff really made our stay here memorable. They were so friendly and genuine. They work very hard to ensure you have a good stay- the man working reception (unfortunately I cannot remember his name) worked everyday during our stay from early morning until late at night, and even then he slept on a cot in reception to let in guests coming home/arriving late inside. I cant believe how hard they worked to ensure we had a pleasant stay. The rooms themselves are huge and very clean. The bedroom had good a/c and fast wifi. There is a good breakfast selection and breakfast is yummy. They can arrange tuk tuks to Angkor Wat for great value as well as bus tickets. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from the town centre- It was an easy walk and we did not feel unsafe at any point when walking back at night. We felt very safe during our stay- the building is locked at night time and there is CCTV throughout. We very much enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

We stayed 2 nights only to see Angkor. Paid 17 USD for a room. When we got showed to our room we were disappointed that the room was small and without windows. The windows in the room only led to a common area with sofas and TV. Such a weird first thought of us, actually the whole room was ours haha. So actually we had a big living room with sofa, TV and desk (and kettle, drinking water, tea and coffee) plus a bedroom with attached bathroom. We didn't need that big but always nice of course. And there was a small balcony.

The interior is a bit run down which can be expected for this price. There is AC+ fan in both rooms. Bathroom is the usual Asian wetroom with shower in the middle of the room making it wet everywhere but hot water works fine. Comfortable bed.

Service is good and breakfast is included. Breakfast starts at 6.30 which is good if you want to get away to Angkor early. Although both mornings the breakfast took ages to prepare, I guess only one person working in the kitchen. So if you have a schedule, make sure to be down at the breakfast 45 minutes or so before leaving.

Wi fi worked fine. Location is a 15 minute walk to Pub street, but nearby there are minimarts, restaurants and spas as well.

Room Tip: Room 102 is huge with living room, don't know about the other rooms.
