Angkor Zen Gardens is relatively new, only a few months and we were lucky to be one of the first guests in this little paradise. The French owner, Bruno and his Khmer wife, Resa, had a real vision of the perfect retreat in the middle of this huge garden. Only a few bungalows (6 or 7, I forgot!) so it can never be crowded and plenty of peaceful activities: yoga, Tai Chi and meditation a few times per day.
Also they had the great idea of hiring an Indian cook, Ramesh, who is doing some amazing vegetarian food…
We stayed 5 days, wish we could have stayed 10…
Also I like to mention that Angkor Zen is only a 5 minutes drive from the center of town, we used the bicycles from the center to go shopping but frankly we were in a hurry to be back in the gardens, Siem Reap is a bit too frantic after a few hours of meditation!!!
Highly recommended if you like a quiet stay.
