“unable to deal with individual travelers only Chinese Package tours”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 7, 2010

Among the Las Vegas like strip of new hotels that have risen in the last five years along National Road 6 years is the Royal Empire Hotel which is nice for the $50 we paid but unfortunately the management is severely lacking. It appears that they have become so used to dealing with low end package tours from china that they have lost the ability to accommodate individual travelers. Miss the group rush for breakfast and the remainders of the free buffet will be slim pickings. Go to the spa in the off hours and the girls are sleeping in the beds. They have become so impersonal that they only refer to you as your company as if you are with a package tour and are simply unable to create an accurate bill for credit card payment. With so many options i would suggest staying elsewhere.

Surprise, surprise...walked in to a really big room and very clean bathroom. All wooden floor and a king sized bed. Just nice. The mattress was a tad stiff for me and so are the pillows. The hotel staff are friendly and very much obliging if you're in need of some tips or advice of places to go. Breakfast buffet was a little disappointing though. Bland and not much choices. Better have breakfast outside.

The hotel is nicely furnished with warm wood finishings in the lobby. The room and bathroom are clean and looks new. The balcony for deluxe room has great pool view and sunset view. The hotel plays historical/cultural shows on big screen near the pool every Thu, Sat, Sun & Tue that we can watch from the privacy of our balconies. Breakfast spread is not as extensive as other hotels but they change the main dishes daily.
