“An atmosphere of happiness, tranquility and nurturing is created in this delightful hotel.”
Reviewed January 20, 2014

Centrally located, Shinta Mani Club is one of the most tranquil and relaxing hotels in which we've stayed. Without exception, the staff was wonderful: welcoming, efficient, friendly and eager to assist in any way possible. We chose Shinta Mani in part due to their commitment to training and employing young Khmer people and were delighted with every minute of our stay. That these young people were thrilled to be offered such an opportunity was evident in their willing smiles, eagerness to do their job well and in happily stopping for a chat when time permitted.

Our room was simply, but elegantly furnished with a very comfortable bed. Set into the ceiling was a softly lit black and white sketch of an old monk - just beautiful. The bathroom was large and spotlessly clean, with fluffy white towels and quality toiletries. A sound dock included a selection of pre-programmed music if you hadn't taken your own. Large glass doors opened to a balcony that overlooked the courtyard with its contemporary pool and waterfall. Our room had windows on both sides, which created a bright, open feel. Bottled water was provided daily, along with fresh fruit and a lovely arrangement of lotus flowers. A selection of drinks in the mini-bar was included and a little basket of cookies with a sweet message was placed by our bed each evening. We were greeted with refreshing cool towels each time we arrived back at our hotel and were offered bottled water each time we left, which was very welcome.

As well as an a la carte menu, the restaurant offered a fabulous 7-course degustation of Khmer delights, which we thoroughly enjoyed, especially when accompanied by live jazz on Sunday night. Sitting on the huge swings to enjoy a drink or a meal was a highlight. The breakfast, complete with champagne, is fabulous.

We enjoyed a wonderful massage in the spa, with a choice of oils to suit our taste and mood.

Just across the road is the Shinta Mani Resort, where some afternoons we chose to soak up the sun by their clear blue pool. The architecture in the Club is sleek and contemporary, creating intimate spaces with a wonderfully nurturing feel, enhanced by music playing softly in the background. The Resort is more reminiscent of the traditional colonial era and has more open spaces with a larger, sunnier pool. Glasses of chilled water and banana chips appeared each time we sat down and were replenished at regular intervals. The hotels were both full, but you would never have realised, as the ambience remained tranquil, calm and relaxing. A percentage of sales from the shop goes to the foundation to assist in creating further jobs.

The hotel suggested possible itineraries to visit the beautiful ancient temples and the surrounding area, and organised a fantastic guide and driver. Mr Yanos was extremely knowledgable, friendly and accommodating, with outstanding English and a delightful sense of humour. The good weather in January, mid-twenties with no rain, means it is peak tourist season, but we were able to organise a schedule that mostly minimised sharing the temples with extremely large crowds. The hotel also arranged hassle-free airport transfers.

Of an evening, it was an easy walk, or a $1 tuk-tuk ride, to the vibrant night markets, where bars and restaurants share the walking streets and alley ways with market stalls.

Don't worry about changing money into Reals. US dollars are accepted (preferred) everywhere and prices are generally displayed and quoted in dollars.

Room Tip: Room 206 had windows on both sides, making it bright and airy.

Congratulations to the management & staff of this hotel. The service here is as good as any I've ever experienced. We were made to feel truly special for the duration of our 3 night stay in the club section. Rooms were comfortable & large & beautifully decorated. The breakfasts were wonderful, especially the cooked to order options.

These two hotels (club and resort) are the rare mix of gorgeous well run properties with staff that actually seem to care and enjoy their jobs and do them extremely well. Every detail is thought of, cold towels upon return, knowing your name, remembering your likes, clean and beautifully presented rooms and common areas, arranging anything and everything you would like with eagerness and excitement, etc.

I also appreciate that the hotel is run locally and actually gives back to the community in the form of jobs and not one off handouts. It isn't CSR, it is actually caring about the place they do business in and the people there. It has true heart which is rare.

The experience of staying in Siem Reap in this hotel made my husband and I love Cambodia and love the Khmer people. We will be back and we will stay at Shinta Mani.

Thank you for such a lovely time and introducing us to Cambodia!!!

Stayed here in January and all the staff were amazing including Tevy, Renee and Christian. Our Tuk Tuk driver, Ton, was fantastic...he was organised by the hotel and took us on all our tours of the temples....best option to see the temples and country side. The hotel is nicely designed and rooms were spacious and modern. Location was great....quite street away from the hype of the main town but close enough to walk or you can get a tuk tuk infront of the hotel for a couple of dollars.

I stayed 2 nights at this property. The room and hotel facilities are awesome which possess uniqueness in every design. All staffs are friendly and professional knowing how to greet customers from their heart. The location is also perfect just a few minutes walk to the pub street, malls and the city crossing river.

This was the best experience we have ever had by far in a hotel. We stayed in the deluxe living room which was lovely, the hotel overall was very stylish and within walking distance to the famous Pub Street and day/night markets. The staff were absolutely amazing, professional and genuinely friendly. We felt like rockstars!

All PROS:
- Being shown to our room where they had soft music playing
- Amazing service, so much effort put into making conversations with guests, and receiving a cold towel every time we returned to the hotel as well as being greeted with 'welcome home'
- The rooms and hotel were extremely clean and always smelt like peppermint
- The bed was so comfortable and we had a view of a lit up temple on the roof
- Plush bathrobes
- Free minibar!
- The bar staff knew how to make the best cocktails (and they always knew when we were in need of a refill so we never had to get up)
- Being served banana chips and fresh cold water every time we sat by the pool
- The food was delicious and the presentation was great
- The pool was never busy and we barely saw any kids the whole stay
- Eating breakfast every morning on the large daybeds with free champagne
- Really calm and relaxed vibe throughout the entire hotel
- Coming back from a long day of visiting temples and finding cookies and a sweet good night message next to our bed
- Fresh fruit and flowers in our room daily
- Presentation of the hotel, candles lit throughout to create a really relaxed atmosphere
- Staff always exceeded our expectations and went out of their way to get us anything we needed (including a very late night pizza from town when room service had finished and their restaurant was closed)

If you are keen on doing a bicycle tour I would recommend hiring the hotel's mountain bikes, they cost more than other places (only $9 total) but they were much better than the flimsy ones we saw other people riding and they allowed you to go exploring a lot further out of town.

The only thing this place was missing was a gym, but one of the friendly bar staff was more than happy to recommend us a gym he visited nearby (there could be a gym on the resort side but we didn't check).

We also thought the airport transfers probably should have been included in our room cost but this was only a small thing and it was only $15.

We loved it so much we are going to book to go back there again this year!

Room Tip: Resort side has a much bigger pool with more sun, but there are a lot less people on the Club side w...

We spent 3 days at the Shinta Mani over the New Year's holiday, and found everything about our stay there perfectly executed. The room and hotel facilities are beautiful, the food and service were excellent. The staff at Shinta Mani know how to deliver over-the-top service with genuine warmth and attentiveness. By far the nicest hotel we stayed in during our 3 week trip through Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam.
