A little bit further away and a bit smaller than the other temples, Banteay Srei is is still a beautiful and well-preserved temple

Nice and small. Really beautiful and well preserved. The fact that this temple was created entirely in sandstone has left the carvings very intact. A bit further out of town, I would recommend getting here with a car and driver as opposed to a tuk-tuk.

So worth the hour or so to get there (by tuk tuk) Beautiful temple in a wonderful setting and not so touristy. Definitely another temple to see.

Temple is small and a quick tour can be made in 20-30 minutes or less. Carvings are well defined. Access inside the temple is not allowed. A square: From the front take right, follow the path but pass the exit to get a view of the left side, nearer the front entrance, then back track to the exit. good photo op at the far left corner of the temple yard, outside the gate-- two boulders offer good photographer height to get a full shot of the temple.

Visit this together with a trip to Kbal Spean. Recommend going there by tuk-tuk, though far will give you a real feel and flavour of the Cambodian countryside. A good place to take photos is in front of the pool of water at the front of the temple. Beautiful intricate carvings and very small scale as compared to the rest of the angkor temples. There are food and refreshment outlets nearby and also clean toilets. We also enjoyed watching the water buffalos in the lake next to the temple.
