“Cosy nice boutique hotel close to Angkor Wat”
Reviewed August 12, 2013

We, a family of 4, spent 3 nights there. The family suite was furnished in a very attractive way and was surrounded by a gorgeous little garden. The hotel staff was very friendly, attentive and helpful, e.g.: My husband lost his watch at the pool area, it was found when we had already left for Malaysia. Now they will send it to our address in Malaysia.
Angkor Wat is just around the corner, Tuk-Tuks to the city centre ( 3 US$) are always available in front of the hotel.
The breakfast is ok, the dishes offered for dinner are very delicious and at a good rate.
All in all one can say that this hotel is stylish and can be highly recommended.

I loved this place -great staff and excellent location .the provision of a tuk tuk was a godsend -all day usage to any location including all temples and the centre of town from sunrise to sunset -brilliant. After a hot day out excellent to come back to the pool and a cold Sauvignon Blanc before venturing out for the evening.i would definitely go back

I had a very nice stay here whilst in Siem Reap for a month on a project.

What this place needs is a 'no children under 16' policy. The rooms all face a central swimming pool and day in, day out, the peace and tranquility was shattered by the irritating screaming of a succession of unsupervised children in the pool.

Eventually I raised the matter with the Front Desk staff, who giggled a bit and then said they would not ask the parents to quieten their kids because they were afraid that the parents would get angry with them! I pointed out that instead they had me at the front desk being angry with them, and all I wanted was them to ask the parents to show some respect for the other guests. The matter never got resolved.

If kid noise does not bother you, then obviously this won't be an issue but be warned it can be incessant. Some notices up around the pool asking parents to ensure that their children behave as though they are in a shared public place rather than a private pool at home might help.

Other than that, this is a lovely place to stay with great massage, good food at a reasonable price, excellent breakfast and helpful staff. Rooms are clean, spacious and air conditioned. Beds are firm but that is not uncommon in SE Asia. Mosquito nets are provided, which, with Dengue Fever rife in Cambodia at the time of writing, is a great idea.

A bonus mark for having English Marmite available at breakfast! I would not even have found that in the Sofitel.

Although I just stayed here for one night, it was well worth the stay. Friendly service, great location, excellent accomodations and well worth the price. It's such a shame I wasn't able to swim in the pool although I was able to get a massage at the spa. The breakfast was very filling. Thanks for the experience.

The hotel is very close to Ankor Wat. The transportation arranged by the hotel is excellent for a day of exploration. Upon arriving the staff will help you to plan your visit there, so no need to do a lot of planning before going there. Make sure to visit the Night market (if you are visiting on the first weekend of the month), and/or the Old Market for any souvenirs and cheap shopping. The hotel is clean and the staff are friendly. The massages are very inexpensive and unique (traditional Khmer full body massage is best). If you prefer soap bars, you should bring your own (as the bathrooms only contained liquid soap). There are many insects in the dining area (outside), but you can request a candle that will help keep them away from your food if you are really bothered. Bringing your own wearable insect repellant is ideal. The breakfast buffet was lacking, but the limited options available were great. Overall, our stay here was excellent.

Charming hotel featuring local architecture set in quiet area close to the temples of Angkor. Very friendly and helpful staff. Tuk-tuk is included, the driver was also very friendly, absolutely reliable and could explain the temples. Buffet breakfast is included and as delicious as the à la carte food which is reasonably priced.
To relax after the temples, you can cool off in the pool or enjoy a great massage.
Again anytime!

I booked this for 3 reasons as rating not so high on TA. Firstly, they had a (good sized) family room. Secondly, there was a swimming pool and third because of the free tuk tuk. Everything was great. Checking in was a breeze. Breakfast was fine and the swimming pool was clean. Best of all were the 2 tuk tuk drivers (we had 2 rooms). Mr Ouch and Mr Vouch. They were patient and informative and helpful with a good sense of humour. Mr Vouch even came running through Ta Prohm looking for us with umbrellas when we were caught out in a downpour. Mr Ouch was always waiting at our pick up point with a wave and a smile and water.
Whoops, back to the hotel review. Pavillon Indochine is out of the main shopping/pub area but that was a bonus as far as we were concerned. And only a 10min (free) tuk tuk ride anyway. WiFi was strong, rooms were clean, tv worked. Beautiful area around swimming pool. Private seating outside all rooms. Friendly staff who were helpful in organising some activities we wanted. All in all we would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: All rooms looked good.
