“Great place, great people”
Reviewed November 24, 2012

We stayed at the Privilege Floor for our honeymoon in September 2012 and were continually impressed with the entire experience throughout our four night stay. From the moment that Sean picked us up at the airport and presented us with a band of jasmine each and throughout every step of our stay our expectations were exceed. First impressions count but Sean and his the staff here follow through all of the way. Jackie and the team were always thinking ahead for us and making great suggestions on how to get the most out of our time and all of the many services that are included when staying their. The food and service on this floor at the private dining room was exceptional. Domra, Dendra and Say could not have been more gracious. The traditional Khmer food was a delight. My wife especially liked the private cooking course where the Exec Chef took us himself to the market to procure the ingredients for our lesson where we prepared Amok Trei & Sach Ko Chhar Mreas Prov. The private tour guide and driver through Angkor Wat and the next day up to the Kulan Mtns was great. The rooms was very well appointented and the swinging bed on the balcony was pretty damn cool. The whole atmosphere around the pool very relaxing and the spa service was very nice. You have the sense staying here that this is authentic Khmer hospitality at is best, which it is.

Room Tip: Privilege Floor

If you would like to become King or Queen for a while - Borei Ankor hotel gives you this kind of feeling. Staff friendliness is just above any expectations. Food variety is beyond imagination. Rooms are very nice designed. Hotel hallways are decorated with polished wood and carvings witch gives you impression of some Royal Palace.
Personally myself – I absolutely loved every day music played by Khmer lady in the hotel lobby.

First off, the place is undergoing a major piece of renovation work and they do a great job of minimising the impact. Staff are really friendly and breakfast is comprehensive and delicious.
The rooms are OK, flat screen telly, lots of darkwood as you'd expect and the usual bits and bobs. Mini bar prices compared with most 4/5star hotels are great. Roll top free standing bath was beautiful, little clay pots of shower gel and body wash were cute but you end up getting intimate with the bloody things to get any gel out! nice looking but bit of a pain.
Likewise the light in the wardrobe which comes on when the wardrobe is shut but you have to open it to turn it off. First night was spent trying everything to turn the damn thing off before going to sleep with light shining through the slats. The room safe was bust and wouldnt accept any codes. Handily the staff left a note saying it was left open so they locked it with a code we could get from reception. Nice touch but the door was still swinging open....
Tuk-Tuk guys in green uniforms in front of the hotel will run you around from dawn til dusk for 15-18 USD per day. Nice guys, flexible and friendly. recommended.
We travelled with a 9 month old and 2.5 yr old and used the Tuk-Tuks everyday around town and temples with no problems at all.
Cambodia is awesome, amazing sights, friendly people, great food and cheap, cheap beer. Whats not to love?

My daughter and I enjoyed a wonderful three night stay. We were so impressed by all the staff and their kindness and concern. I only wish that we could have stayed longer. We loved the spa, the swimming pool, our room, the restaurant and did I mention our guide and driver for Angkor Wat?

Room Tip: Although the rooms are "no smoking", our first one was very smoky, much better after we mo...

We stayed two nights as part of our Cambodia extension with Friendly planet. The hotel is centrally located ( 5 minutes tuk tuk ride away from Pub street ) the reception was great, the rooms are very spacious, clean, very well appointed, free internet access in the room, safe, private balcony, coffee, minibar, etc. But noisy :( we stayed in the second floor and we could hear everything from the room above us and from the hallway. The staff was very helpful, cordial and friendly. I bought a couple of shirts for my husband at the hotel shop and I asked the lady where can I get the traditional skirts from, like the one you are wearing? and she was so nice and requested a custom made one for me in a matter of hours! The food and service at the restaurant was superb. My visit to the hotel spa was also amazing, I had a 2 1/2 hour package that included body scrub, massage and a facial for US$70.00 and they gave me a 20 % discount. Great value for money, I was received with a glass of fresh coconut water and a bowl full of aromatic flores and warm water for my feet, then I went into a private room were I had a very nice body scrub, relaxing massage and a facial..very relaxing.. I was floating after that :) The hotel was being remodeled at the time of our stay, but even with that we had a great time there. Thank you Borei Hotel

As soon as we were picked up from the airport, the staff made us feel like we were welcome. Everyone we encountered had smiling faces and greetings throughout our stay. The hotel is about 15 years old but you wouldn't really know from the updated amenities. The pool and cabana area is comfortable and the breakfast spread is very fulfilling.

There is some construction going on to the front of the hotel. We were warned by the staff that it would commence around 8 and finish at 5 every day but that if it bothered us we should contact the front desk. We were out most of the days so we didn't really notice except when we stepped outside our balcony.

Overall a great experience and would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the construction.

Staying at Borei Angor was delightful.
The location is great (about 5 minutes by tuk tuk to the city center)
During our trip in south east Asia we never had such a friendly staff. No question was to much. Even helped us by phone while we had some problems crossing the border from Thailand to Cambodia.
The hotel is very nice, lobby, dining room, bar, lounges. Our room at the first floor wasn't that spectacular but surely good.
Breakfast is awesome, western and Asian food. Lots of choice!
One critique, during our stay there were some construction works going on, sometimes it made some noise.

I definitely should go back!
