“A very close shave”
Reviewed January 4, 2014

After what was a terrible stay in Battambang I nearly cancelled our stay here due to a couple of negative reviews on here.
It was very lucky for me that I didn't.
We arrived after what is quite a long boat journey from Battambang expecting the worse. We had asked the hotel for their free pick up. We docked and disembarked into the melee of tuk tuk drivers scrabbling for business and there upon the hill was a Mr Sopheap a vision in a silk jacket.
He very quickly put us in the air conditioned, leather seated, 4x4 Lexus, we weren't prepared for this.
We arrived at the hotel which is really nice, lovely rooms, good selection at breakfast and excellent efficient friendly staff.
We wanted to eat out and the receptionist called to reserve a private romantic table, when we arrived the waiter had reserved not one but 3 tables for us to choose from.
When we left we decided to use the bus to Phnom Penh, the bus was supposed to pick us up at 7.45am at the hotel, at 7.50am, without a word of complaint from us, Mr Sopheap decided we had waited long enough and got the Lexus out again and drove us to the bus station, all free of charge.
Yes the hotel is a 5 minute tuk tuk ride to the centre but there are always drivers waiting to take you in for a couple of dollars so for me not an issue.
Also yes there is chanting, I did hear it quite early but not at 4.00am and again really not an issue
Book with confidence.

The friendly and helpful staff picked us up at the airport and drove us down a wide road and then we tired onto a dirt road and got worried. However, we were pleasantly surprised by this new hotel, with all the amenities, and comfortable beds. we arrived New Year's Eve to a party on the front area of the hotel. The staff graciously gave us gifts of magnificent Cambodian silk scarves. The staff is very gracious, but their English is not always understandable. They did get us a wonderful driver who took us all around for a day. Otherwise, we took Tuk Tuks to get into town and back.

This is a good reasonably priced hotel in a place that is hungry for US dollars.
Would recommend staying here.

Considering i paid only about 50 euros i had low expectations. The room was big with all 4 stars amenities. Very nice. The location is a bit remote (10 minutes from town) and some tuk tuk drivers do not know the place.
Beautiful hotel. Real value for money in one of the most touristy place in theworld.

From pick up to drop off at the airport, the service level of the hotel staff was exemplary. Our driver provided us with a cold towel and bottle of water to refresh ourselves after waiting for visas and luggage. Concierge organized the best tour guide for a tour of 3 temples at Angkor (Mr. Sophea). His knowledge was encyclopedic. Highly recommend him..premier cabana room was spacious and comfortable. Excellent shower. If you have a scrub at the spa, be aware that the herb one contains turmeric, so you will be a bit yellow until you have a couple of showers. It was great to be 2 blocks off the main hotel row.

Room Tip: Premier cabana rooms are on the terrace/pool level.107 is beside the spa, so there is more foot traf...

Our family just got back from a great week-long trip to Siem Reap. I give the hotel five stars in large part because of the great value. Don't get scared when you arrive and drive down a run-down looking dirt road! For what you pay, you get a lot in our opinion. We would recommend getting the pool-side cabanas. The staff was wonderful and very foreigner-friendly. Sor Sopheap, one of the managers, was very helpful given that we were traveling with two senior citizens and two kids (ages 5 and 1). The hotel is not downtown, but the short tuk-tuk ride is a fun experience for the kids. We thought that the beds were great and not hard. I read some reviews that there were bothered by dogs barking at night. On some early mornings, I heard them but it didn't bother our family; it just added to the local touch along with what I believe were Muslim prayer calls on some mornings. The breakfast buffet, which was included, is nice. You can get fresh eggs any style (including omelets), crepes, pancakes, and noodles. There is sufficient selection and it does vary. My wife used the spa three times and enjoyed it each time. We would definitely stay there again.

We spent two days in this hotel and it was very nice. It is not located where the nightlife is but with a tuk-tuk you can arrive in literally 5 minutes. The tuk-tuk costs two dollars.
Breakfast is good and there is a swimming pool. We did not use it because the weather was not so hot but it is nice.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony that faces the swimming pool!

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel and spent a little more for the 2 bed 2 bath room. It was very spacious and perfect for 3 adults. The rooms shared a common sitting room and balcony.

The pool area is very nice and the gym is simple, but has all the basics (light free weights, treadmills, elliptical and an all in one weight machine).

Breakfast is buffet style and very extensive with both Asian and Western cuisine.

The hotel is off the beaten path which makes it relatively quiet and if you run the AC at night it will completely drown out the neighborhood noise. The hotel has Tuk tuks at the ready which makes getting about very convenient, but you must travel with a hotel business card as most Tuk Tuk drivers will not be familiar with the hotel (it is a little less than a year old).

The beds were VERY comfortable; however, there were a few drawbacks to the room. First, hot water never lasted for more than 30 seconds and then was cold for the remainder of use. Additionally, the power goes out multiple times at night so use the power strip with a surge protector it is a must (the strip was in our room). Lastly, the bathroom partly flooded when the shower was used.

Overall, it is an excellent hotel with great amenities. I would definitely stay here again despite the minor drawbacks. It's a beautiful hotel and provides a relaxing haven to enjoy after long days visiting the temples.
