“cool place to stay at siem reap”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

I stayed at Le Fromager guesthouse for 3 nights. I think it qualifies for the term: "guesthouse". It is probably not the top place in Siem Reap from a price or comfort perspective but in terms of hospitality I think it scores quite high. The owners are very friendly and make you feel at home. They helped me plan and arrange almost all my trips around Siem Reap - advised on what to do and not to do around. The rooms are basic but comfortable enough for a short trip and fair compared with the price one pays. It is not very far to the city center and you can always hop on a bike in front of the guesthouse which is the best way to get around there unless you want to take a tuk-tuk.

I really loved that place. The owners are very nice and the place very relaxing. It is a bit far (it take about 15 minutes to reach the city center by bike), but it's ok if you want to spend more time visiting the temples or the surroundings pagodas, like me and my husband did..

A nice small guesthouse of only 5 rooms owned by a charming couple. They can arrange all you want to make your trip easier in Siem Reap. the breakfast is simple but good and the place very quiet and relaxing. The room was SUPER clean and of a decent size. Le Fromager is a bit out of town but it is a small details as they have free bicycles to hire. Overall a very good place to stay.

We had a great experience staying here for 3 nights. The owners were so very helpful, arranging drivers, bus tickets, guides, dinner show tickets, etc. As he said, "nothing is a problem for me". The room was large and very clean. There is a lovely swimming pool on a nearby property which guests can use. The owner hooked us up with a fantastic guide who spoke excellent English. Only probably was we found the bed uncomfortable but, other than that, it was a tremendous value for the price.

We found this hotel purely by chance; our hotel had double booked and after the previous evenings impromptu stay in a dingy 'hotel', I can not describe the relief we felt when we walked into this wonderful place.
The charming couple who run the guesthouse are welcoming and friendly, they make you feel at home instantly and offer any help they can in facilitating your stay (including a simple early breakfast of toast, fresh coffee, tea, and fruit for those who want to get to the temples before the tourist crush). There are free bicycles to rent but if you don't fancy that the guesthouse will call or book you a considerate, honest tuk tuk driver.
The guesthouse has definite character; it is floor to high ceiling of wood and the rooms are spacious and clean. It is easy to find being situated midway between the old quarter and Angkor Wat.

I stayed at Le Fromager Guesthouse in Nov 2012 and I really enjoyed this place.
Dan and Cheng Ly, his wife will make you feel at home and organize the best tours around the temples in the area. Dan was very helpful with his knowledge of Cambodia and other activities to be done around Siem Reap.
Nothing is better to have them wait you at the guesthouse after a full day of walking around the temple with some french "crepes" ready for you!
I highly recommend you to stop at this new place!
