Good food with a conscience! Attentive service and good choice of dishes - including red tree ant fritters! Reasonably priced buy word has got around - so already busy and may need to book

this restaurant was one of the best places i had the pleasure of experiencing while in Siem Reap. this was highly recommended by the staff where i stayed in. located at the west part (quiet part) of the river not far from the main town, i was surprised to see a very stylish, homey structure with open garden seating, mood lighting and a very warm ambience. i chose the terrace on the second floor overlooking the garden. i think it's the best seat in the house! the food presentation is very "French" inspired and finely detailed so don't expect man-size portions. the chef is a local who was trained in the middle east and his food is a fusion of Khmer and international cuisine. prices are a bit higher than the other restaurants but it's a premium that is well worth the cost. highly recommended. dress nicely. your mom will be proud of you.

I had the pleasure of dining at Marum for a few evenings, and was absolutely delighted to see so many vegetarian options (8!) in a Khmer restaurant (that weren't consisting only of mushrooms and tofu). I managed to order all the vegetarian dishes over 4 evenings and every one of them was delicious. Each dish has obviously been carefully thought out in terms of flavours and the portion sizes are perfect. My favourite dishes where the Palm Heart Salad with toasted pumpkin seeds and the taro and chive dumplings with ginger soy sauce.

And to top off, the restaurant setting itself is so beautiful, and the staff and students so friendly and switched on. I consider the prices very well set - particularly for the quality of the food and service - totally worth it. I also combined food with shopping in the Friends n Stuff shop located in the 2nd building. I wish there was a "Marum" in my city! Friends - please open a restaurant in Bangkok!!

We stumbled upon Marum in Siem Reap by accident - it was at the end of the small street where our hotel was located. Having had a great meal at Romdeng in PP we immediately booked a table for that evening and were not disappointed. We shared 3 small dishes between two of us plus a dessert. All the dishes were beautifully presented and full of flavour. You may pay more than you would for a bowl of noodles or fried rice but who wants the same sort of food every day. There was a great variety to choose from and as we dined there three times in five days we were able to try different dishes every time and were never disappointed. The students and teachers are very attentive and informative. It is also a beautiful garden setting for outdoor dining although there is also indoor dining for the rainy season. Prices for the small dishes are between $3 - $5 which is very reasonable for the type of food you are served. Prices were much higher at our hotel. Would thoroughly recommend Marum for a pleasant and enjoyable dining experience. The attached Friends shop also has some interesting and well prices articles for sale and all for a good cause. We wish the restaurant and shop all the success they deserve..

While the current menu at Marum is relatively short, the taste of the food, ambience and service are tops! If you dine at only one restaurant in Siem Reap, this is the one to try. Best ribs ever!!! I even ordered a second plate of them.The chocolate cake with lompot peppercorns is an original and spectacularly tasty desert treat. The flavor profile is so different and subtle its mind blowing. The restaurant is a well done, romantic with a charming old French Cambodian atmosphere. However, families and adults will love it too! The prices are extremely reasonable and it all goes to a great cause...helping kids! You can't beat Marum on any front!
