“Excellent hotel!”
Reviewed September 18, 2013

Great location (just beside a shopping mall, a short walk to the riverside and the town centre, eateries close by), new and clean facilities (very comfortable beds, spacious rooms, excellent cable TV), well-equipped gym and pool, excellent breakfast, but most of all, very friendly and welcoming staff, in particular Ms Samlei and Mr Chan. Next time i come to Siem Reap, I will definitely stay at Memoire again!

We are family with 2 children stayed at this lovely hotel for 4 days and its indeed a pleasant experience, there's not a item for me to complain. Location was great with shopping mall nearby, and 1 usd tuk tuk ride to pub street.
The hotel staff are all above expectation with their sincere greeting and smiles consistently.

Hotel was good, probably needs updating in the near future. Not sure how it compares with other hotels in Cambodia as it was the only place we stayed.

The welcome drink was not so tasty and the reception often smelled like it when we passed through. They organised all of our trips and were very helpful. If anything the staff were too attentive, often there are a lot of them and they all stop to stay hello and how are you. Don't get me wrong it's nice but sometimes I just like to walk out of a hotel.

The afternoon biscuits/cakes were great. Location is fine, 10-15 minute walk into the main town. Swimming pool is great. Breakfast was ok. Bathroom could have been cleaner. Probably wouldn't go with the upgraded room if I chose again, while nice we didn't spend that much time there as there is lots to see outside!

My wife and I spent three nights at the Memoire. We had heard good things about the place and were not disappointed. There is a lot we could say, but what sticks out the most is the level of service and friendliness. The staff went above and beyond in every way--and were so engaging that we ended up conversing with some of them (Chanty and Ken in particular, whom we now count as friends) for what may have been hours. We learned a lot from them about the country and what it's like to live there. This was our first time in Cambodia, and our experience at the Memoire was one of the highlights. When we come back, we will certainly stay there again.

It took a while for me to book a hotel in Siem Reap since there were many with good reviews and looked inviting, reasonably priced and located well. Even with highly recommended other hotels, I still chose this one. No regrets as we were treated well from Day 1 to Day 4. Every little thing was addressed well by the staff. CHANTHY, front desk staff made sure we were picked up at the airport and arranged a room upgrade for us because some things didn't work well with the room we booked. SOPHANET and RICHNA (KEN) attended to our needs. And all the others did their jobs well with a smile. Breakfast was satisfactory and service was excellent. Small hotel that's why it felt like home. Rooms and surroundings were clean - in fact, they cleaned our rooms at least twice a day. Massage from hotel was also A-1! Lucky Mall is just next door and that gave more convenience for everyday needs. Pub street and night markets are walking distance from the hotel or short tuktuk ride. In spite of that, staff still offered to do errands for their guests. We didn't swim in the pool but looks good too!

The Memoire d'Angkor Hotel was the hotel that we compared all other hotels to during our time travelling in Cambodia and Thailand. For the price it is by far and away the best value for money when you look at the quality of what we received. I have stayed in some hotels where the room was smaller than the bathroom in the Memoire d'Angkor.

My recommendation would be to book the suite which was the room that we stayed in. We stayed in room 201 (I think that was the room number). There were so many added extras.

On the way to the hotel prior to check-in, we mentioned in passing that it was our honeymoon, so they baked us a cake that was waiting for us on our second night when we returned from the days activities. Added to that they had set up the bed with rose and jasmine petals with a big love heart saying I love you. At first I was a bit shocked until I realised that it was in relation to our honeymoon. Very nice.

The breakfast was one of the best that I have ever had in a hotel. They had all of your traditional breakfast items (croissants, omelette making, cereals, bacon, etc), as well as the Asian options (including noodle options, rice options, meat dish, etc). On the very last day before we left for Battambang they even had pork spare ribs. This banquet was all taken in with a musician up on stage playing one of the traditional xylophone instruments.

You may have an issue with the hotel if you don't like the smell of citronella as the staff regularly clean the floor with it as a way of removing any mosquitos from the premises. But this is restricted to the corridors only.

Every other hotel in Cambodia and Thailand (including a resort) were a disappointment compared to our suite and the breakfast in Memoire D'Angkor

Room Tip: We had room 201 (I think). Pick the suites they were fantastic. Our suite had a full day bed in it w...
