Angkor = city, and Thom = big, this temple is very nice for a visit to because mostly people don't talk about this temple only focusing on Angkor wat and Bayon temple. And if you not like a lot of people than go in the month of May. But go in the morning because in the afternoon you can have some raining showers! and do not forget to take some water with you.

Large complex which includes Bayon Temple and the Terrace of the Elephants. We arrived later in the day and viewed Bayon Temple during sunset, which was absolutely beautiful - really brought out the different colours in the stones. Excellent visit and 'must see' when in Siem Reap.

Arrived early in the morning but the heat was incredible. Bring lots of water and your walking shoes. There are lots of steps and be careful to stay with your group because you can get lost in the maze of walkways and hallways. You need at least a half a day here. Something that I missed doing was to hire an elephant and driver to take me around the temple area. I was with a private tour company and unfortunately could not take advantage of this. The Temples were amazing and something that shouldn't be missed while in Cambodia. Really sorry to have missed a ride on the elephants.

Massive temple complex. Great gateway to drive through. Remember sunscreen, a hat and very comfy shoes.
