“Just not quite sure?”
Reviewed October 17, 2011

Stayed two nights at this hotel after deciding to stay in town a few more nights and our current Guesthouse was fully booked. I do not know how to rate this hotel!

My dilema is - facility wise this place is very good, huge room ,lovely big beds in our twin room, the building and rooms are just gorgeous, breakfast was fantastic and very ample! Bathroom has a HUGE bath and a shower curtain! Lovely pool which we had all to ourselves as us two and one other man were the only people staying here!

Staff wise? and perhaps the problem was that it's the low season, Siem Reap was half flooded so not a lot of tourists about, the staff were very disinterested and not that keen on helping us or getting up off their chair! We came back one night and no lights at all on in the huge hallway, very erie! I wanted a pot of tea during the day and the kitchen was only open for breakfast, the lady at reception said it would be ok, so l helped myself! She was'nt too keen to come help but eventually did when she seen that l was pretty keen for the tea! and really this is not a bad thing, just it felt a little weird! We helped ourselves to pool towells as there was no one around to ask? Mind you the lovely young man at breakfast was spot on!

So as much as facility wise it was terrific, location also good, l am hoping that it was just because it was the low season that the staff seemed very disinterested, which is a shame! l would like to stay again next visit just to see!

And please fix the Air Con in the older rooms, they rattle!!!

Room Tip: We were in an older room adn the Air conditioner was very old and rattled continually. Maybe the new...

Mr. Prim runs a lovely family style hotel that is great value for money. It has well done rooms although bathrooms are large but the water was not very hot. The staff is friendly and do a great job of arranging guides for temple tours,Angkor and beyond, There is no elevator and the rooms do not have wi fi. For wi fi you have to go down to the hotel lobby. We took a package and discovered some of the inclusions were really not worth it for example, meal at the hotel. Greast food choices are available 10 minutes in Pub Street and in the main street. These are better than dining alfreco in the hotel alone. Breakfast is fixed and has limited choice so there is no spread by the staff will do eggs to oder and supply great fruit platters as well as fresh bread. No tea and coffee service in the rooms. Mr. Prim is an attentive host.

We spent 3 nights at Auberge Mont Royal. It was a very pleasant stay. The staff is really friendly. We've had a good surprise, our room was ready although we arrived early in the morning. The room was clean and big, with a very comfortable king size bed. Maybe the only negative point is that there is no elevator to access the room, but the hotel has only 3 floors so it is ok. Outdoor swimming pool is small but good. Restaurant is good, with a nice breakfast (except the bread which is not very good). Try the milk shakes, these are outstanding. Staff helped us to organize our visits to the temples and other areas in the region, so that our stay was very hassle-free.

My friend and I had a beautiful week ar Mr. Prim's hotel. It is clean, cheap and relaxing. It is a short 10 minutes walk away from pub street and the night market. The food is also quite good, try the pomello salad...just yummy! The hotel also offers great massages in rooms next to the pool. I truly recommend it!

We stayed at another hotel in Siem Reap also with a group - much nicer hotel, nicer room, crappier sleep b/c it was so noisy. Auberge is quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was a bit repetitive, and the service/amenities are basic. However, you really aren't in the room very much, so we don't see the need for all the bells and whistles. Location wise, it's walking distance to town, but not right in the middle of things. If you need to be in the center of town, another hotel would probably be better. We rented a car from them (the hotel van) for a day and drove around Angkor to the temples for $30, well worth it. Internet access strong in the lobby, we could get a passable signal from our room.

Room Tip: We got a deluxe room. it was near the pool, nice.

I am sure one can find cheaper in Siem Reap but I think that one pays for the pool area which is a nice to have
Nice auberge but it is more of a hotel atmosphere. I found the service quite unpersonnal and not as friendly as other places I have been in Cambodia. Being called an auberge, I was expecting a more intimate ambiance. I would not recommend this place for a lone traveller
Breakfast is nice, Deluxe room is big and nicely furnished,
I had a massage at their spa. I had the worse massage ever. The masseur did not put any will in her job at all, no smile, no energy and finished it 10mn earlier as planned. I was so gutted that I didnt wanna complain...
