Reviewed April 30, 2013 via mobile

rooms were priced at $8 w/o aircon. I liked that there was no one to bother you to sell you their tour or tuktuk. the kitchen area didn't look great at all. it was a bit noisy at night from the nearby bars. threadbare curtains and not so great bathroom. the only plus is that they don't bother you and the location.

well i booked a room ahead of time.
but when i arrived they said no rooms availiable
in the main hotel building (which were the nicer rooms).
so they sent me to a single level rear building room.
a real dump and no ac! but it was very late and i was
tired so no choice.
and then the next i booked a tour to Angkor and their driver left
me at a Angkor stop and then proceeded to lose me!
i had to pay another driver for Angkor and then hired a 3rd driver
to get back to my room! and then they refused to compensate me!!
absolutely the worst service EVERRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!
and it all started with the room - they intentionally book
the nicer rooms, even thay know very well they're sold out.
better to wait until you get in town and find better hotels
at half the price!

Room Tip: dont book ahead at this hotel. better wait until you've arrived in town and find a nicer room at half the price!

Cheaper than anywhere in that area. New owners havent been running it for very long. Cleaned up the backyard for a rabbit enclosure. Fine for the price (7$ for twin room). Expect nothing great roomwise, it's very basic, but the staff are very friendly, bicycles, instant coffee for free, breakfast too. And the bunnies are definitely cute.

The Red Lodge is a little run down but you can see that it must have been really great in the past. The bedrooms are comfortable and it's pretty easy to get to the night market which is a great place to go in the evening.

What we loved about this place were the owners who were very friendly and helped us to get around Siem Reap. It's easy enough to arrange a tuk tuk driver or to hire bicycles to get to the temples as well.

We had a good time but probably wouldn't choose to stay in Red lodge next time.
